Why are tarantulas and scorpions so scary to people?

Scorpions are fine and the other bugs are fine, but tarantula isn't. It's just horrible.. It's giant and hairy and gross O_O I just hate it. When you see it, you will scream

I think tarantulas are super cute in real life.. but I hate them in the game. mainly because they are so annoying to catch

I have a phobia of bugs and bug like creatures. I can do it in game, but it's still a little creepy.

Also I suck at catching them so they always get me. And it's a little intense to get chased. Plus they just startle you.

I don't think I've ever seen a scorpion in the game - but I did jump the first time I saw a tarantula. It was the speed. Well, that and I'm scared of spiders.

It's the sound they make. To be fair they're not as scary in this game as they were in WW.

I've only seen a few in the game, but I personally don't think the tarantulas are scary. The sound, speed, size, etc. aren't really scary at all. They're actually sorta cute :3
And I haven't seen a scorpion yet o:

It is scary that they attack you though. Then your character faints. >.<
I actually feel like the 'attack and faint' thing is a totally unnecessary and inaccurate feature of the game... But it's been in all AC games so I guess they had to add it to NL too. I feel bad for little kids who play the game that come across these bugs ;-;

I just hate how they come after you if you have your net out, it makes me jump!

Came across tarantulas twice in game and both times I had quite a bit of shock!! The first time I saw one, it came running out from the corner of the screen and just when I want to react to get my net, it just sting me and I'm brought back to my house. It is the chasing part that startles me!!

For me it's because they jump out of nowhere, plus I'm scared of spiders IRL. D: Never managed to catch a tarantula but hopefully I can this summer.
