Funnily enough, Dobie, Marlo, and Hamphrey are all a part of the plot in very different ways. Dobie is actually the antagonist in this one, and the unnamed detective is the protagonist

Barold is a detective in a more modern way.

I'm literally doing the opposite! Marlo is the primary detective who sends out ____ to avenge the disappearance of his cousin Hamphrey at the hands of (who he assumes to be) Dobie.

I put a monocle and detective hat on Marlo, although the monocle does stick out a bit.

On my island bea is always investigating flowers, items etc and sometimes with a magna-fine glass, she may not look the type of investigator but she is always on the hunt for clues

I agree with Dobie. He looks like a very experienced and skilled detective. Beardo being his assistant. Raymond is also okay, though I prefer Dobie. Cesar and Marlo could also work.

I also agree with Tasha if you want a female detective. Vivian might also fit the role. Agent S is more of a police officer to me. Velma works well for a secretary.
