who else loves to dress up their villagers?

one of my favourite things to do in NH is gift my villagers clothes and dress them up! what are some of your favourite outfits you've given to your villagers? do you follow their style and colour preferences or go in a whole different direction? and are there any outfits or accessories that your villagers wear that you just can't stand?

I love going into Able Sisters and seeing a piece of clothing or an accessory that would look great on one of my villagers! Even if it's not necessarily something they'd like, I gift it to them anyway. It's almost always something that matches their overall color scheme. Here are the general themes I use:

Marshal: Meme-y or expensive stuff like pixelated sunglasses and the royal crown

Diana: Elegant, fancy stuff with a princess vibe

Fauna: Casual, cute clothing like aprons and berets

Stitches: Rainbow and/or childish stuff

Judy: She and Diana get essentially the same stuff in different colors

June: Beach or floral gear

Sherb: Blue. Just blue.

Julian: Also blue, but usually it's on the royal side

Audie: Beach wear

Raymond: Suits and nerdy things

I want to do this more. I really wanted KIki to wear this design by Meglish at Kirkwal Crossing tumblr, but not possible unless they redesign it and post it online. So I was thinking of giving her the Purple Renaissance dress but since the style and color doesn’t make her tastes, I’m afraid she’ll only wear it once.

I first discovered how fun it was dressing them up (when I was still planning on keeping them original), when I got a friend’s tex from their void. He recommended the tuxedo outfits so i gave him a vampire outfit and a top hat and tail coat; he was so cute! he never displayed the top hat in his house either.

I gave one of my Rudy’s a viking helmet to go with his viking outfit and he was so adorable but he put it on display, so I kicked him out and reinvited him with his card. :/ such a shame since it looked so good on him.

I love dressing up the villagers I plan the keep around. Some of them are harder to dress than others like Cranston and Pashmina. I'm waiting for more fall and winter stuff before I give them more.

Not I. I prefer to keep them original as possible, though I do give them clothing that sell for over 2.5k. You know why...

I haven't done that since July, who knows if I'll ever do that again.

I try to keep most of my villagers original, but I've started giving Dotty teal clothes to match her ears. I also hate Pashmina's sweater, so I'm planning to give her a ton of other clothes to cycle it out.

I love dressing up my villagers and I try to gift clothes that's more their style or close to their color schemes. However, randomly... I'd gift them "memey" stuff... like recently, I just decided to gift everyone peach hats along with glass bottle glasses or pixel shades... because of butts and thug life. xD Anyway, It's become routine that I gift them. It became one of my custom daily tasks ( cause I shop a lot xD ). Since I also love taking photos or videos with my villagers, it's funny when they decide to wear something that I've gifted for laughs. The only thing I'd be guilty of is when my villagers end up in the void and one of my friends gets them. XD

ME! I love dressing up all my villagers, especially since I feel like each of them has a specific color/style that they lean into to make them different from each other:

Apollo: Super dark and brooding, I give him lots of black stuff (The after-school jacket is currently his fave)

Cranston: I switch between giving him traditional Japanese clothing and fun bright red stuff to balance it out (He loves the pullover hoodie and kabuki-actor yukata the most)

Egbert: Dresses like me, which means he gets lots of yellow and beige stuff, he also loves to wear out his cute af glasses<3

Julia: Alternate between green and blue for her, but almost any color works on her (I honestly love that zigzag dress she comes with the most though)

Molly: Lots of orange and yellow cute stuff, especially stuff that looks all garden or adorable-like (she's a big fan of the yellow tweed dress)

Phoebe: One of my favorites to dress up, just because her red and yellow colors are so fun to contrast with her "rock and roll" persona on the island (She loves to match her dance team jacket with some styling black shades while she works out)

Piper: Black, black, black, anything black and cute goes well with this gurl (I especially love when she wears out her tuxedo dress)

Sparro: Lots of orange and red, just because I think it goes well with his bleaker brown coloring. He's also jock so he exclusively gets sports jersies and sweatshirts like nobody's business.

Tex: Honestly the fashion icon I never knew I needed<3 Lots of black, grey, and blue stuff to make him look classy, but he also has a shell tiara that he likes to wear because why not?

Dressing my villagers is one of my favorite things in this game. Especially when I see that they wear something a lot, it makes me feel special. I try to match their general style and give them pieces that would look good with their color scheme. For example, I have Peaches, and some clothes really clash with her since she's neon pink and orange. So I always give her clothes so she doesn't end up looking silly

I accidentally gifted Rosie an item she gifted me the other day tonight and felt like such a jerk, lol. but I forgot it was given to me by her and it looked SO cute on her!!!! I have been working hard on my villagers Fall wardrobe. sometimes the clothing items they gift eachother crack me up too! Nana has a baseball uniform from when I had a couple jocks living on the Island. she seldom wears it but it makes me giggle when I see her in it.

I prefer to keep my villagers as original as possible, with the only exceptions so far being that I'll give them their original clothes or something else they might look nice in if they already ended up in something bad through other means (usually as a result of a gift from a different villager.) For example, it was Ankha's birthday recently and she had been given a fishing vest somehow, so I gave her a new Palatial Tank Dress. I had a few extra characters give her a Pharaoh's Outfit and a brown Checkered Chesterfield Coat; the former because the Pharaoh's Outfit goes with her Ancient Egyptian design just like the Palatial Tank Dress, and the Checkered Chesterfield Coat because we're in Fall now and it seemed to me that I ought to give her some seasonably appropriate warmer clothing.

It's admittedly sort of fun to find clothes they might look good in, but I prefer not risking messing up their homes. Ankha actually ended up getting rid of her Golden Toilet because another of my characters gave her some Butterfly Shades since it's one of her preferred gifts and she put the sunglasses in its place, which I won't complain about since I disliked the Golden Toilet being in her house, but it's generally something I'd want to avoid with my other villagers.

I always seem to give my male villagers tuxedos or suits.Generally I try to give my villagers clothes that compliment their natural coloring.

I really like to dress up mine I have matching outfits with Rosie and tangy Kiki and I have the same sweater and so does Rosie I wish I could give them shoes it would be so much fun!
