I've been looking for Puck and it seems like almost nobody gets him...

Nearly anyone in tier 5, especially those who uses the Hippo, Gorilla, or Lion character model.

in terms of adoption/trading/buying probably one of the gorillas because they're not very popular and everyone assumes nobody will want them so they just void them i guess

in terms of randomly moving in probably one of the octopi seeing as there's just three of them

You'd think tier 5's would be worth more then...
the reason they're rare is because they're tier 5's though, it's a paradox hahaha if they increased in tier status they'd become more common (more desirable and easier to obtain from other people)

^p much
theyre that low because people dont really want them/theyre not sought after. it really is a weird paradox o_O;

Kinda hipsterish but I prefer the seldom owned villagers... So ya I'd prefer tier 5's mostly. I guess I'm at an advantage in a way...

like jambette or diva or something...
I rarely see them, and I actually kinda like jambette lol....

Though Muffy and Stitches both live right next to me so I won't let them leave...

i like a lot of lower tier villagers, too
it's all down to personal preference really, the tier system exists purely as a guideline for trades

Sadly, yes. Most people don't even bother to give them away or sell them. They get voided and you rarely see any of them on the trading board. :/

Rarest villagers are the ones that are the least trendy, as everyone else stated. Personally I tend to like the less popular ones too, and I know plenty of people on these forums who feel the same. We just seem underrepresented because we don't seem to post quite as many threads debating which villager to choose as the people who like popular villagers seem to. ;)

Rarity does not mean lesser amount of people have a certain villager. ACNL does not have a rarity system. Everyone could get a tier five villager if they want to. It's just that they don't. Therefore lesser people have them. It's all based on luck, or trading. No villager is rare, because you can get them by luck with the campsite or random move- ins.

that's not what i'm trying to say
every villager has an equal chance of moving in randomly or coming to campsite (unless of course you haven't cycled out 16 villagers)
i'm saying that tier 5 villagers are rarer to obtain from trades/auctions/other players in general because they're not popular and are usually voided as people presume nobody will want them
in that sense it's a lot more difficult to find tier 5 villagers on the boards or whatever because people don't see a market for them
