where do u prefer ur re-tail to be?

I've gotten pretty lucky, considering I was so happy to start the game that I chose the first town layout I was given. My Retail is right by the train station, so it's easy for trades c:

I have mine by the docks for ease of access there, though I don't go as frequently anymore unless people are visiting. I don't trade a whole lot so I don't need it right by my station, but I have a fairly direct path to it.
I kind of like it mostly just because all my villagers are around there. Seeing as they seem to be my main source of random items to sell now. And it means I see them often as I go to and from there.

I like it as close to the train tracks as possible! More concerned with the look of my town than having it be near the docks for convenience. And I don't go beetle hunting much anyway.

In my second and third towns, Progress and Temps, the Re-Tail Shop is close to the Train Station. It's especially the case with Temps. There is barely any walking. It's immediately east of the path to going to (and coming from) Main Street.

In my original town, Applewin, there is some walking; but Re-Tail is at least in the northern half of town (to the west).

What I care most about is that Reese will have her moments of buying turnips at really high prices (over 500 bells each). That's what matters. It also helps if hosting anyone to sell turnips.

Re-tail placement never mattered to me much. Actually, I think I might prefer it in the middle of the map. With my house being on the right bottom of the map, it's quite nice that the Re-tail is nice and in the middle-ish of everything. Plus, I had way too many requirements on my list when restarting my town already. ^.^

My paths make one big square, and all the main buildings and PWPs will pretty much attach to it. (Still very much early stages, do forgive!)
I like my Re-Tail closer to the Island, that's my main income since I play mostly in the evening when the bugs are out.

I honestly don't care where my retail is, but ideally it's nice to have it closer to the beach or near the train station. It just makes things easier when running forwards and backwards to sell stuff.

I don't care actually, just as long as Re-Tail, Town Hall, and Plaza doesn't touch together.

My retail is in the the top left with all the other buildings (Town Hall, Cafe and Lost & Found)
It's a mini plaza. Personally, if I were to restart my town, I'd want it somewhere near the top. The bottom doesn't seem right to me

I really didn't pay attention to my town, so my Retail is near the train tracks on the upper left corner of the map...It's so far from everything. But the train station is just down the path though.

Mine is in the middle, and it works just fine. I'm not really picky about the placement as long as it's not in a really bad location.

I really don't care where Re-Tail is. Mine is seriously all the way across town, but I honestly like it that way because I enjoy long walks. It gives me time to appreciate my town, and it gives me time to think to myself too.

I'd never really thought about it to be honest. I didn't spend a lot of time fussing over my map: I chose one from the first four to come up and viola. Done. My Re-tail is located on the far-left, then around middle-ish (vertically).

Old picture, but of course Re-Tail can't move, therefore it's relevant. I'm not a turnip fan, so I'm happy with it nearer the dock.

In my new town, it's in the lower left corner which is kind of a pain. In my first town, it was right beside the train station, which was really convenient. But I like my new map better as a whole, so it was worth the compromise.

This is my town map and I must say I like the placement of my Re-tail by the train station. My sister's is in the lower part of her town and when I go to sell things it just takes too long to go down there and sell what I have and if I have to go back to the train station to get more items out of storage it just takes twice as long. Re-tail I like near the train station. The town hall/tree plaza I do like in the middle or lower half of town. I don't really like where my tree plaza is and my town hall wouldn't be bad if Felicity's house wasn't where it was, but such is. She's never leaving and I've made it work. Next town I'm gonna make sure to get better features.

This is my town map and I must say I like the placement of my Re-tail by the train station.

my retail is basically in the same spot, closer to the pond on the left and no pond on the right. there is, however, my town tree near the right of retail. i like it a whole lot. i at first beat myself up for it, preferring retail near the docks considering i beetle grind quite often, but it's just nicer overall to have it near the train.
