I buried mine at the very corner of my town, and then I planted a few trees/bushes/bamboo to ensure the villagers living close by don't accidentally walk into it. So far, it's been successful with 100% success rate of villager avoidance lol! I'd love to see where everyone else keeps theirs, and if it's been a successful spot that no villagers have accidentally triggered :)

Honestly, I never bury pitfall seeds anywhere. I like to avoid causing unnecessary harm in general (well, except for things like specifically violent video games I play where that's the whole point) so even though it's just a game I don't really want to see my villagers getting all upset and angry after falling in one. I don't even really like letting villagers I plan to have move out of town fall into the pitfalls either because I guess, even if it doesn't affect their happiness level at all, I just prefer to be safe than sorry and let them have an enjoyable experience in town before they leave.

Whenever I dig them up I just sell them to Reese along with whatever else I'm selling on any given day.

It's only on a very rare occasion that I see a villager fall into one since I tend to find and dig them up first when they spawn alongside the day's fossils. Sometimes I'll see it happen on the start-up screen before you load up your town for the day, but since nothing that happens in those little scenes actually happens in the game once its loaded it's all good. Otherwise, the only person falling into them most of the time is my character if I'm not careful enough.

Oh I don't bury it to watch villagers fall into them. But I hate digging them up daily or accidentally falling into it. That's why I put it in a place where its almost impossible for them to get to it. And it has worked 100% since I've buried it there over 2 years ago :)

Wait, having it buried in that spot prevents more from spawning? I guess I just learned something new. :)

Also yeah, from your post I didn't figure you wanted anyone to fall into them either since you said it was out of the way. I was just saying what I tend to do with mine. :p

Yes! If you have one buried in town, it stops it from spawning! Same with the fossils. Once I completed my fossil exhibit in the museum, I buried the four fossils behind things like bushes so you can't see them and they never spawn elsewhere ^_^ I like doing that so I dont have to ever bother with them again!

Wow i never knew that THANKS!

I sometimes prank villagers for fun, but i do not do it to the one same villager

Let's go to the beach, beach!

… on my beach, haha. In the corner.

Even though I know it stops spawning if you keep one in your town I keep digging or falling into them daily. I don't know why I just do it.

Buried mine in the farthest corner of the beach but somehow still fell into it. Haven't found it ever since but it's waiting for me somewhere : (

THIS IS GENIUS!!!!

I always just sell mine, but it is a pain in the butt because sometimes I'll step on it while I'm hunting for it. It annoys the crap out of me. I never let my villagers fall into it, though, because it makes me sad about how upset they get. I'm a softie when it comes to my animals, lol.

The top left part of my town, the exact corner. My town hall is there and lots of bushes and trees. It provides a good barrier as you have explained and I do not see the dig spot.

I've been playing since release and never thought to do this. I've just been falling into them every day. Thanks for the hint.

Wow, I thought this was pretty common knowledge already but i guess not lol! But I'm happy to spread the word :D It's definitely a good trick for those of us who get annoyed trying to find the stupid thing Haha!

I bury it at the upper half of my town, at one of the corners, sometimes covered by a tree and bushs.

Historically I usually buried mine right behind my Police Station next to the train tracks, but I think I'm going to start keeping it on the beach, far away from where I normally walk. In Aurmont though I have a couple buried bear my Reset Center. Faulty tunnel systems, y'know.

Same as Snowesque, I keep it under the ground, top left of my town that's near cliff. It's possibly the most safe part of the town so no one would step on to. So, when sometimes I find a pitfall seed when digging the star marks on the ground, despite it shouldn't be found 'cause it has to be beneath the ground top left near the cliff - it makes me giggle.
"Someone who visited earlier today must've stepped on it pffft...."

i don't know why i think that's spooky lmao

but yeah, i buried mine at the farthest corner of my town, under the cliff basically, where no one will ever step. i don't want my babies to get all upset ;3;

The beach for pitfall seeds and fossils when the museum is complete.
The private beach is the best place to bury those.
