Years ago we went to Vidalia Georgia at around Halloween (I remember getting a nice container of autumn candy mix for the road trip) for my mom’s work. We went through several Appalachian states during the trip. The views along the way were some of the best I’ve ever seen. I just wish we could go back...Like @Your Local Wild Child said, the application mountains would probably be the best place to see all the leaves changing. I would personally recommend driving on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park (located in Virginia) to get some great views. I have not been on it in the fall, so I do not know what time the leaves will change at, but the views are amazing. The drive on that road takes 3 hours as costs $30 a vehicle (I think), but its well worth it. I will attach some pictures below too.![]()

EDIT: I found this fall colors site for Shenandoah so it may help you judge when is best to see the leaves change there if you do plan to drive through there!
