I started playing May 2018. My brother and sister had played it quite a bit in the past but it took me seeing the AC town in Mario Kart to want it lol. I'd never played an Animal Crossing game before that.
I started playing as a late Christmas present of the year of 2014, I had gotten myself my first 3ds original the year before I got the game, and the 3ds came with a physical copy of Paper Mario Sticker Star. <3
I started playing it around its release and have since restarted twice after long breaks. I still love the game but it has lost its magic, I wish I had never restarted.
I first played back in 2015 I think? I know I had bought a 3DS just for the game but I don't remember how I got the idea. Because I don't remember hearing of the release back in 2013 nor getting excited or such. I used to play Wild World when I was younger though; but I guess I'd never gotten into the AC "hype/keeping track of news".
In ACNL I would play but not really make any "goals" ? Like flowers, PWP, upgrading shops, finish the museum, getting silver/gold tools etc.
Though I have started all over again this summer when a friend started talking about her own town, and this time I actually looked up more specific infos about all the stuff I stated above and I don't know if I'll ever "100%" the game but my town does look pretty nice/upgraded now
I don't remember, maybe late 2014. I tried the game for like 5 min., got nausea and turned off the 3ds. I think it took me 3 months to play again and get hooked.
I don't remember anymore, but definitely somewhere around the time I created my account on here (2019). I bought it earlier, however, but put off from playing it because I know how time consuming it can be, despite being a fun game.
Once I began, I was hooked on collecting items and island tours, as soon as that rush died down and I started focusing on my town and talking to the villagers in it, I realised just how dull and watered down New Leaf was compared to the GCN or even Wild World in terms of dialogue. It was disappointing since talking to villagers was one of my favorite pass times in Animal Crossing.
I got the game on May 28th in 2014 I believe. Been playing it off and on ever since, although I haven't played it for quite a while because my town is pretty much finished in the game. I was considering using a save editor to start a new town, but I know that can be a bit risky so I haven't done it yet (besides, with NH coming soon I figured I might as well wait).
