I'm so used to the gamecube voices so when I heard the new ones it took a while to get used to. I miss when the character's voices got high pitched when they were angry, they sounded really funny as you can see in this video:

Also Tom Nook and Isabelle's voice changed from the teaser:

I've never played New Leaf and haven't been in the animal crossing fandom for years so the first time I heard of Isabelle was when she was revealed for smash and when those meme's of her voice came out. I miss Isabelle's old voice, it sounded so cute. The new one is too soft spoken.

Her old voice clips:

What's your opinion on the character's voices?

oh I definitely prefer new horizons to all of the old games personally. it feels much more soft, I guess the word would be? new leaf felt piercing and loud imo which I wasn't a fan of. same with the teaser you showed

and I gotta say, it's probably because I'm just not used to it but I played gamecube a couple of times and the way the voices sound so human creeped me out. probably my least favourite of all of them lol

love em all though.
I adore games with their own languages, characters in splatoon all sound adorable

I like them! but I also haven’t spent super long playing the other games so that might contribute to it, but overall I think they’re very cute lol the crankies voice do kinda throw me off though to be honest

the cranky voice in the gamecube was my favorite lol, it just sounded funny to me

Man, old villager personalities were so funny. Really a shame they had to make them so cardboard-like.

The old voices sound really mush-mouth to me, though. I'm fine with the new ones.

Okay that rudeness video was making me laugh. I wish villagers got that spicy all the time. It would certainly add a new depth to their personalities

i really love the new voices and the hushed (?) tone they have now. i won't lie, i miss how sassy the villagers used to be, but i think some of it still comes out in the villagers' interactions with one another and certain personality types.

I like the NH personalities so far, I feel like sometimes the characters come off as more sarcastic or snide rather than outright rude, but there's still that sassiness there! As for the voices, I have always loved the way AC characters talk, and it's no different with this game.

Don't really have any opinion on this. I have got to admit I got used pretty quickly. I remember being way more chocked by the difference between Wild World and City Folk or Wild World and New Leaf. However I miss the way the whispered in Wild World (thoughts written in grey)

i like the voices (especially cranky and singing)! like someone said above, i miss the wild world grey whispering voice.
i also miss when they would sing the town tune in their voices like in new leaf - there's something different about these ones.

i like the voices! in particular, i really like the low normal voice and the cranky voice aha

they're a little weird, and i can't tell personalities apart just by voice anymore. snooty and cranky are the only really distinctive ones for me.

then again... i've been playing new leaf since it came out before this, so i was probably just extremely used to those, haha. i think it's neat that they changed them! isabelle's singing is garbage, but even that has its own charm.

I just need to know why they chose certain voices for some of the characters. Bud's voice is extremely high pitched - higher than Mira's when he looks like Guy Fieri. It doesn't feel right.

I missed the whispering too but they still do it in NH! Not very often but it's still there. Ellie gave me a dress today that I didn't want so I gave it right back to her and after thanking me she whispered with the grey text something along the lines of, "Hmm, this looks strangely familiar .. I'll just play along."

They're definitely different, but I quickly got used to them and now I don't even notice that they've changed.

Yeah I feel like Dragos voice doesn’t match his character design, it’s too high pitched

I definitely like the old voices better. I don't know, people are saying they like the softness but the NH ones just feel too soft to me? The female voices are much harder to distinguish from each other and Isabelle's is so soft I always feel like she's whispering in my ear or something 😂

Maybe I'll get more used to them eventually, idk

I agree, the snooty personalities voices are too soft for me. They don’t even sound like their supposed to be a stick up snooty character, they just sound really shy and soft spoken

I miss the old gamecube voices. It was more musical because now you can more or less understand it if you focus.
I mean the new voices are easier to imitate. Soooooo. That's always fun in my house. The snooties sound so lady like? They dont sound snooty but I still like it.
