Today someone was very kind to give me a crown without asking for anything in return! There are so many kind and self-less people on acnl and it makes me very happy to be apart of that community!

annnnnnd I just bought one of my dreamies... JULIAN!! He'll be with me soon! <3 ^.^

When I first joined, I was looking for Julian for my new town because he was so well beloved in my first...and was given him for free by an incredibly kind soul. It was the sweetest thing.

I've never had julian before but i've look him up and seen pictures/videos... hes such a fabulous horse!
Which is why i want him in my town of lil ol Mochi

It was just a few weeks ago: I was new to the forums and had no wi-fi rating. Someone with a cycling town was offering Pekoe, whom I've wanted for a long time. I'd noticed the cycling person's name previously (Maruchan), as it was the same as someone I once played an MMO with, but I assumed it was a coincidence. I sent a PM, asking about Pekoe and saying that if they didn't want to take a chance on someone with no wi-fi rating, that was okay and I understood. Then came the reply:

"Hey VS, nice to see you again." It was the same Maruchan I'd played Glitch with. She offered me Pekoe for free and was so kind. It felt good to be recognized and known in a new, strange place and to re-encounter a gaming friend after we'd all been scattered. It was a wonderful way to be welcomed to the forum.

Since then, I've had a few great encounters with people and I'm just so happy to be here.

They truly did! I've been trying to pay the good fortune forward with similar acts because I feel so lucky, and I have to wonder if that's part of how the selflessness of the community perpetuates--the gratitude.

Oh yes. I think the smug personality fits him best out of all the smugs, he's just so...something. xP And I like trying to decorate his house with a proper celestial themes.

WOW that is so awesome Tessie! You must have lady luck on your side that time!! Yup it never hurts to enter those giveaways because it's honestly luck of the draw! That's crazy that you were able to reunite with a friend you've played with from another game! But the fact that they remembered you as well showed what a good friend you are! I'm happy for you to get one of your dreamies especially from someone you know! ^.^

Since i started Acnl about two months ago and have only been using this forum for bout a week now, I'm still slowly building up my town however, i'm definitely going to do some giveaways soon because I want to return the favor of those who have done so for me!

Yes, yes yes and more yes! once I get julian, i'm going to give him only the finest quality of furniture and hopefully find the perfect outfit for him to wear >:] so that he can flaunt to all of mochi town.

Having people over for Setsubun. Tanabata comes up next week, and I may invite more people over for that, but it's just bamboo grass, and Nintendo Zones have been giving away Japan only items, so if they give it out, starting Sunday, I may open. I'll make the decision on Monday, posting on the forums if I'm having people over for Tanabata (probably at most an hour to come, get the grass, and shop- should anything be left).

A year and a half ago I was starting to slow down in playing NL. I had grown lazy and still on my to-do list was to get a wet suit so I could dive for certain fish. However, being the lazy bum I was I couldn't bring myself to playing a bunch of mini games so I could buy it. One user was kind enough to offer me one.

I first started playing the Animal Crossing series when I got WildWorld as a gift from my mom. Peanut was one of my first original villagers. I fell in love with her instantly and she was my absolute best friend. When City Folk came out, I was sad to move away from my town and transfer the file onto the Wii. When i settled in to my City Folk town, who would be one of my villagers but my darling Peanut!! It was years later and New Leaf came out. I didnʻt start playing until it had been out for close to a year. I caved and bought a 3DS and the game. I turn on and make my mayor character and as soon as i step off the train to be greeted by Isabelle, lo and behold, there to greet me as well was none other than my bestie for life, Peanut. I havent let go of her since.

I like the new characters a lot, but one of my favorites is being able to continuously play with my favorite villagers from late elementary/early middle school days.

When I first started here I met a ton of really kind people. First I met someone who not only let me catalog items for free, she also gave me unorderables without me asking and also gave me a free villager! She's one of the sweetest people on here and I'm so glad I got to meet her right off the bat! I've also met people who've given me free villagers and free unorderable items just because.

Before I'd even joined TBT, I was on Club Tortimer with three other people. Two of them were begging for bells and being generally irksome, but when they realized that we weren't going to give them any, they left. When it was just me and the other person, they gave me 4M for no reason besides the fact that I wasn't begging for it. It was really kind.

Since I joined TBT, probably the person who gave me Phoebe for free. I was going to pay 1M or over for her, but when I got to their town, they just let me have her.

One cool thing that happened for me in New Leaf though was Mira sending me a throne for saying her house was cool. It was only after looking through my catalog that I realized that this throne was worth 800,000 bells. I don't even know where to put it but I don't have the heart to sell it. It was way too sweet of her.

I have a new thing to share! I ended up losing out on an auction for Rosie, and the person hosting it send me a message saying that there was another thread out there for someone selling Rosie that I could bid on! Thanks to them, I was able to bid and receive Rosie. It was incredibly sweet of them to do that and now I have another dreamie! <3

When I first joined The Bell Tree Forums, I was looking to trade or buy the 7-11 set and made my first thread listing that as well as a bunch of unorderables on it. A member on here gave me the whole set for free ^^ (I wanted to tip her, but she wouldn't take the bells); I really appreciated it a lot while at the same time felt bad I couldn't give anything back in return. I was really unsure how trading worked at the time and how to make good offers (I still don't know how), but there were quite a few people who replied to my thread if not to trade, to direct me to someone who I could trade with; and they were really patient with me. I always appreciate that.

Another member gave me a couple pocketfuls of hybrids one time when we were making a trade, because I killed more than half of my hybrids through TTing (I forgot to change it from night ordinance to beautiful town ordinance x_X), for free. I was able to repay her back by giving her a lot of y.hibiscus starts (though I think I'm still in debt to her even though she may not think I am ^^).

And another member has helped me from time-to-time with my villager picture collection. I still have yet to figure out to repay her. ^.^

My first day here I got Ankha for free, and she just gave me a throne today. I have plans for it once I get Gracie's Gorgeous set

For me, the best thing was actually not exactly in-game. (Sorry, this is long D: )

New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game. I'd vaguely known of it before, but never played it. Well, the first recognizable thing I saw in New Leaf was K.K. Slider. I remembered from from the trophy in SSBM and was so happy to see him. I came to learn about him as a character and, around that time, Chuggaaconroy had started his ACNL LP. So I was playing my first town along with him and he helped me discover the song "Stale Cupcakes." For some reason I just really adored it and someone made a comment about it sounding like K.K. Slider having a really sad birthday party.

So it sparked an idea and I ended up writing a 17 chapter fanfiction that wasn't meant to go anywhere. I did a one-shot and when I showed my boyfriend, he teared up. He thought it was so touching. That meant more than anything to me. I turned that one-shot into a chapter and proceeded to write the entire thing. It had its flaws, but I was so damn proud of that story and, strangely, very sad when I finished it. I wanted it to last forever, but it knew where to end and so it ended.

My boyfriend loved it. He's not even an AC player, but he loved that story and thought it was very touching. I love this game because it spawned such a creative idea and one of my first finished pieces in ages. Took me out of a really bad rut. So I forever have respect for Animal Crossing and forever love K.K. Slider because of that. If I ever need inspiration I just put Stale Cupcakes on repeat and chill for a bit, because all I need to help me write is the knowledge that I was able to write something beautiful once, and I have the power to do it again.

Haha, so...I guess to bring this full circle and help it fit more into this thread...

The day after I finished the fanfiction, Lucha (my first moved in villager and current favorite) sent me a letter stating that whenever he hears Stale Cupcakes, he thinks of me. I was legitimately floored because of the timing. I sent him my Stale Cupcakes music box and a copy of the song. It's still playing in his home to this day <3

I love the people of this site. So much more helpful than other AC forums.

Thanks to people here I've never had to worry about needing bells to restart my town or find exclusive items.

Two of the best things that have happened to me here are I gave someone one of their dreamies for free, and then I picked up one of my dreamies from their void.

The other thing was I asked for one of a few items in exchange for a villager and the user gave me them all. Was so happy.
