Uh-oh incoming word dump! Sorry!
What's one thing from a previous game you most hope they bring back?
*Pounds fists on table* SHRUNK SHRUNK SHRUNK SHRUNK
He's my favourite NPC and I miss my self-deprecating comedian axolotl!
(I relate to him. My humour tends to run on the same vein, oof)
Here's to hoping he can tag along in an April Fools update alongside a fan-favourite such as Blanca?? And not as a one-off like Rover was?!
The fact there's been an entire new page added to the reactions with this recent update, and that there's about five-six that NPCs use that we don't, there's a possibility! AND there's been visual proof of the coding for the Shuffle (I remember seeing someone dancing somewhere before, which was obviously hacked in....)
What's one thing from a previous game you don't care if it comes back?
I dunno, if Brewster/The Roost returns and it's more of the same of what's in WW/CF/NL...ugh. Don't care.
It was at its best in CF but to me NL's Roost was dull, especially considering K.K. moved out.
I found myself enjoying Club 444 far more because there was more to do and better interactions between villagers, past and present.
I also detest having to rely on guides as a crutch and the coffee minigame was 100 percent that if you didn't practically live in the Roost to hear all your villager and NPC preferences. Or you fail a dozen times and write down the corrections, thus you're forced to make your OWN reference guide.
Not to mention when you were thrown a curveball by some random villager you didn't know and would likely never see again...
(I even opened up NL just now to see if my memory had remembered it poorly and yup, unchanged opinion. My mayor has single-handedly ruined Brewster's good name, RIP)
I'm also not big on coffee like most of the fanbase seems to be, which probably contributes to my opinion on The Roost in general. Being said, it would be fantastic to have The Roost back because then the fixation on its absence will be gone.
What's one thing that's never been in the series you hope they add?
Town tune interfaces that aren't 20 years old. From when I started with ACGC, something I've always imagined with every new installment was the possibility of half-notes or half-steps or even THE HIGH F but...alas.
I understand there's a lot to factor in with replaying it through all the different formats of the NPCs and villagers and so it's not the top thing that could be added/tweaked.
Though, sometimes it can be irritating trying to transpose something specific a dozen times to get it to fit in that archaic range. I've gotten my tune down in my main island and my sibling's island already but it's always a grind to do so in the first place.
(Thank you ACNL's melody paper for preserving town tune drafts!
)
What's one thing that's never been in the series youwouldn't care about would greatly dislike if they added it?
I'm wholly against anything that makes Animal Crossing into The Sims such as:
-making your own villagers from scratch
-HHD-ing entire homes from front-to-back (granted, small removing tweaks are alright, like what WW/NL had. The room markers can stink at times in NH)
-anything that resembles the 3DS Fire Emblem's relationship system.
Headcanon shipping is alright because I'd never put down anyone's imaginations, ever.
Actual implemented results from shipping is another question and the only child villager should forever remain Poko, Ike's son.
Whew. Sorry again about that essay!
