What's Bothering You?

I hate how far away I live from my girlfriend. I wish we met in person purely because I feel embarrassed admitting I'm dating someone I met online. I wrote off dating people I met online entirely until I met her and I try to make it work since I click with her so much. She withdraws a lot and isn't the best at texting, but I still care for her. I am coincidentally moving to a city about four hours from her later this year, but it's still an awful distance. The only real bright side is we plan to visit sometime in the next several months.

The place I work got bought out and is closing in about a week and a half so I have been trying to find a new job or decide to apply to the new business taking over- I love my coworkers/friends I made there in the 2 years I've worked there. I also missed January 1st on the advent calendar event so I don't get to have one of the new star fragments 😔

I’ll try not to get into politics with this vent, but as gaming becomes more of a luxury hobby I anticipate I’ll eventually lose interest in it entirely. Consoles and PCs keep getting more expensive by the day and my joy from the medium isn’t what it used to be.

I feel like I’ve seen everything and nearly every game I play nowadays, even the best ones, is just a slightly different take on something I’ve already played in the past.

Nearly every game I play I lose interest in by around the halfway point and I end up starting to rush to get to the end since I want to move onto something else.

I’m only able to game nowadays despite the skyrocketing costs because I live with my parents and we have a Tri-income. I plan to move out and have my own place within two years. I also plan on starting a job that’ll eat up at least 25hours a week. When both of those things happen I’ll have significantly less time to play games and not as much income to put towards them. I’d rather put that energy into books since I’m more likely to enjoy them and it’s a much cheaper hobby despite how expensive everything is getting.

I’m also just not a fan of the general direction the industry is going in terms of what is getting released and how it’s designed and made.

I’ll still participate in communities like this one, but I don’t imagine I’ll be gaming much in a few years, if at all. In the meantime I’m going to get through my backlog and enjoy as much as I can. The thought of quitting what was once my favorite hobby really saddens me, but there’s too many things pointing towards me needing to move on.

For now I may just dedicate weekends to gaming or something.

Just a suggestion. May time in your days when you can to play your games.
