Hi all

Remember when we were asked this question at the very beginning and got a choice of answers?
Did we ever figure out whether our answers impacted anything in the game?

Maybe the answer impacted the nook mileage item colours/designs? Long shot, but just a theory!

WWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW You're really smart! Interesting theory! And totally plausible.

The sleeping bag one gives you a sleeping bag, the lamp one gives you a different lamp, the something to kill time one I think gives you a different radio. Not sure what the food answer gives though.

Cool theory... I chose something to kill time, and I got a blue radio, yellow lamp, gray camo bed. It seems we can at least confirm it doesn't have anything to do with roof colors for the airport due to other people's research!

I picked the sleeping bag option and never even got one. So doubting that.

I think I picked the lamp twice and only noticed that I ended up with a blue airport.

What I Chose

I chose the food one and i got a grey camo bed, a blue radio, and a yellow lantern.

I chose food and got the same items as you, so likely that the choices don’t affect what we start with!

I chose "something to kill time" and got a light blue lamp, green radio, and blue/yellow patterned camping cot

Some people said that it determines what your mom will send you in the mail the next day.
I picked "food" and I got a cherry - my non-native fruit.

I chose food and got a blue radio, red lamp, and gray camo cot. I had a blue airport and cherries, and Mom sent me pears in the mail.

That was on my fourth reset. On my first three attempts, I chose lamp and got orange airports all three times, with different fruits (oranges, pears, peaches). I really wanted a blue airport, so I reset before I got to the point of setting up my tent, so I'm not sure what color/style accessories I got for everything else.

I THINK this determines your native fruit. I could be wrong though. When I first started my island I chose "Something to kill time" and got my native fruit as cherry. But then I didn't like my islander name so I restarted and I chose the very first option (I forgot what the first option is). My native fruit was pears. I wanted cherries so I reset a third time and chose "Something to kill time" and I got cherry as my native fruit again.

Like I said, I could be wrong but it just seems weird that answering the same question with the same answer on two different resets netted me the same native fruit.

I think it was determined in previous threads that it influences your first present from your mom. Everyone I know including me choose "something to eat" and got 3 of another fruit in the mail. I think it is also guaranteed to be non-native, but maybe you can get unlucky?

I resetted a couple of times in the beginning, and picking the same answer three times didn't result in the same native fruit or airport color each time.

Food: your native fruit
Sleeping Bag: a sleeping bag
Something to Kill Time: a switch
A Lamp: a lamp

Timmy and Tommy said these questions are rhetorical and that Tom Nook will have you set up with everything, these items were given to us at the start of our game without having to go out of our way to achieve them

That makes way more sense than what some other repliers said (no offense intended to anybody else though, I'm just saying).

I chose the same, and got the same fruit! But I don't think this is the way it works, just a cute n fun coincidence.
