I have nine villagers in my town, with one of them in boxes. Yesterday I invited a villager from the campsite into my town. The campsite villager has not set up a plot yet. So can I invite someone to live in my town? Would they both move in or would the invited one cancel out the campsite/vice versa?
You won't even get the option for someone else to move in. Once you get a camper to agree to move in and save the game, they are completely locked in and cannot be overridden. Believe it. I had to move Erik to my third town and delay getting him to my second town for months because I had invited a camper and he wouldn't even discuss moving.
