Gen 5. I got Pokemon White and put it down after awhile, but I'm in the process of nuzlocking it currently.

I had Pokemon Yellow as a youngster for my first game.

I wish I could remember if I had Pokemon Stadium before or after Yellow.

My first was Gen 1. I can't remember which version it was, as I borrowed it from a friend before buying my own copy of Blue.

Gen 2. Got a Gameboy Color Pikachu-edition with Pokemon Gold for my birthday from my parents!

I had played Pokemon Blue/Yellow before, but only for short while, since they were owned by my brother and he didn't let me play XD

Gen 1. So glad I came in at the start so I could see how a major series develops from start to present. It's been an interesting ride.

Disappointing story and the most minimal post-game since G1. Amazing.

Oh yeah the story is terrible, agreed, it's about as bad as all the other games stories.
I don't know what you mean about the post game though, Weren't there Looker quests, The battle mansion and battling online? Also the changes to pokemon breeding the whole thing a lot less dreadful then the other gens.

Mind you this is way off topic, so yeah, that's all I'll say on it.

I wouldn't count battling others and breeding as post-game, those are already available beforehand.

The Looker quests were short and forgettable. And apart from the Battle Maison, that was all that you got after beating the games. The Battle Maison is also disappointing. The Battle Frontiers from G3 and G4 were variations on battling, like how in the Battle Arcade random effects would be added on Pokemon, in the Battle Factory you get a choice of 3 from 6 random Pokemon, etc. Those bring an interesting factor into battling the CPUs. The Maison is just the Battle Subway put into the same room, and the Battle Subway was also boring.

OR/AS had a bit more done for it in terms of post-game, with the Delta Episode being put in there. But once that was over, there was the same emptiness in the game that X/Y had. All that's left is the same Maison, cut and pasted from X/Y.

The Battle Subway may have been boring, but at least in G5 there was a large part of the region left unexplored. In BW1 you never even could become the Champion until the post-game. In B2W2, Black City and White Forest became available, where you had to play a guessing game to get through floors to ultimately fight the final trainer. Join Avenue gets some changes in the post-game in B2W2, beating the E4 makes a plethora of Pokemon available to you in both, you can play the game again on a lower/higher difficulty depending on game, swarms start appearing...

Even FR/LG, which I actually hold in lower regard, had better post-game than the G6 games. Gen 6 is in an awful state, and I hope that GF delays the next Pokemon title so they can actually work on it. I understand why X/Y were like they were (huge workload lol), and it's great that they can pump out a new titles every year currently, but if those games turn out to be less than mediocre then what's the point?

You know what? I'm actually gonna say it, when you put it like that... I actually agree with you XD haha
I still like the 6th gen, but like you said, it could have been a lot better. Or maybe I just agree with you because it's hard to be mad at the Toqger monkey. lol.

technically, gen II was my first (crystal!) but the first game i actually was able to finish was ruby in III, so it can go either way i suppose!!

BW2 also had the Pok?mon World Tournament, which everyone liked because Cynthia.

Gen 1. Pok?mon Yellow. got angry because I couldn't beat Brock so I traded my yellow for my friends blue. lol

I saved money from mowing lawns to buy a game for myself when I was like 11, and when my dad took me to Toys R Us to pick one out they were unboxing Red and Blue the day it was released, so I bought Red version and he bought Blue so we could compete with each other. He lost interest after beating the champion the first time, but I haven't been able to stop playing over the last nearly two decades.

Pok?mon Blue was my very first. I can still remember getting that and the clear purple GB color.
