You know, the "what would you bring to a deserted island" one. The one that every single youtuber seemed to accidentally read as "Something to kill me" instead of "Something to kill time" lol
I heard at the start of the game that no one had a clue but does anyone know now? I've heard nothing about it like ever so im really curious
I'm kinda mad I've completely forgotten what I picked, I don't think i picked something to kill time because that was the one time i didnt pick it but I can't remember what else I would've picked

I picked something to kill time and so did my girlfriend. We both got different color airports, fruit, and nook mile items. Totally stumped if it was a useless question or what.

I reset into double digits initially and messed with answers to the question in case it mattered— it had no impact on any initial island dynamics (fruit/airport color/initial villagers) as far as I could tell

I thought it had to do with the first gift your mom gave you. I had said I wanted a snack and then from Mom I got oranges. I thought people who said they wanted a lantern or light (I forget that exact option) got candles.

I picked something to kill time and I still got fruit. Then the next gift I got from her was a box of tissues

...to kill time = a switch
...a lamp = a literal lamp
...a sleeping bag = a sleeping bag

these are all things you get at the start of game without having to buy them/do anything to get them
