Okay, so I was planning on buying the Majoras Mask NA Limited Edition, but it's sold out everywhere >.< My birthday is coming up, and my parents are pre-ordering the game for me. I really want that skull kid figure with the game.....but it's sold out everywhere >.< And my parents need to know soon....

Should I wait for the limited edition (if it ever comes in stock) or the regular version?

I'd say get the regular version, since limited editions are rarely ever in stock after release.

I've never seen Nintendo re-stock anything that was limited edition (games, consoles, etc.). If you no longer have the option to get the limited edition of something, I'd definitely go for the regular one.

Ok. I'm pretty sure I'll have to go for the regular edition anyways >.<

Another thing to factor in is that it's Friday, and in the U.S., that's when a lot of people get paid.

I was hoping for the Skullkid figure, but I seriously doubt that's going to be happening. I'm not even sure if they're still taking pre-orders for the amiibos I want, since those can run out quickly too, depending on the character. Nintendo is breaking many wallets this year.

Urgh all my hopes and dreams of getting it and the N3DS Majora's Mask edition are crushed. >.< I'll just wait until tommorow, see the votes, and then make my desicion

Look on other sites with 3rd party sellers.

I can guarantee that a large number of the limited edition consoles have been scooped up by scalpers wanting to sell them for higher for profit (because they're scum).

If you want one that badly and your parents don't mind paying more for it...

No I don't want the 3DS (well I do and I know it's for sale, but my parents won't let me get it)

Ah, I guess I'm gonna have to settle for the regular version. My dreams on getting a Skull Kid figure are crushed >.<

OMG, I just looked on EBay and there were tons of Limited Editions, but the prices were ridiculous :/

>.<

I hate that people do that :(. If it were me I'd get the regular one if I needed one badly, otherwise I'd ask for a delay to the gift until another edition I liked came out or the Zelda one possibly became available again.

wait and see

hopefully Nintendo just didn't expect demand to be as high as it was and puts some out either for preorder or just giving shops more for inventory when it does release (seriously the speed at which it went is goddamn insane and I can only see being a case of really bad judgement of demand)

of course if they did account for it all, then between this and the Smash GCN adaptor thingy, they should probably start selling this **** on their own site with strict purchase limitations. it wouldn't entirely get rid of the scalper problem, but at least it'd likely cut down/out on those that buy multiples of the same system just to sell one or more of

Definitely wait and see. At the very least, go to a Gamestop and pre-order the regular edition but make it clear you're interested in the special edition as well. They tend have lists made in case more become available.

It's also the case that GameStop has stopped limiting special editions to 2 per household, as they become more aware of the "scalpers" problem, as people call it.

It may be that those who ordered too many could have their extra pre-orders cancelled, but I wouldn't bet on it, in which case, this would only benefit those looking for Monster Hunter stuff, as that's more easy to find still in stock.
