hm. i’m honestly not really sure what to classify my theme as but i’m aiming for a rustic, colourful and luminous vibe! i have a hard time sticking to just one theme and so i’ve decided to have a few of them combined together :’^)
I used to have a theme centered around fitness. I even tried to make all my villagers jocks or those with fitness hobbies. I decorated my island with jogging routes, pool, outdoor gyms, yoga area and spa.
But I scrapped the idea away last September. I removed all the outdoor facilities I built. I decided to create a new player and plan to turn his house into a building with those amenities instead.
I can still go back to that idea, now with work out and yoga reactions available. But for now, I'll wait for more possible future updates. Still waiting for the old furniture to return (and the lifting weights reaction).
My first island is cat themed and am trying to get all cat villagers.
My second island is based on an oc who I am integrating parts of my own actual heritage into, to be represented. It's going to be fairly nature based and full of as much Choctaw culture I can put in
My main island doesn’t exactly have a theme. I didn’t think of themes at all, being new to the game, and so it just kind of evolved as I went. The thing I’ve kept with all the areas is a sense of overflowing flowers and greenery. To me it makes it feel very lush and warm and fun. I really designed my island for summer, just because that lushness really fits the island summer. But I have been enjoying it in fall too. Love the changing grass, tree, and bush colors and now really love the red leaves.
My new island is going to be themed around Pippi Longstocking. I am still figuring out what that means, and I’m not even that into the books (the idea originally came to me as an excuse to collect villagers with freckles). But it will be sort of a natural, neverlandesque, wild thing. Not full on kid core or cottage core (tbh I don’t really think I am familiar with the themes or focused enough to pull them off if I wanted to). Basically, I just imagine this kind of fun, wild island with bright colors mixed in with natural ones (I just really like color) less structured areas. As a kid I spent a lot of time running around this trail at the edge of a canyon, or in the woods by the sea, and I just really want to capture not even as much the scenery as that sense of possibility and imagination - like when imagination felt like a super power and you could fill the whole forest with imaginary friends. So...tbd, we’ll see. But I am having a lot of fun with it. There’s probably a name for what I am doing (maybe it is some hybrid of natural and kid core (i have not yet seen or visited a kid core island, so idk). Down the line I am considering adding some additional characters - and kind of having some ‘lost girls’ (Wendy, some characters less recognizeable out of books I liked as a child or like now, like Cimorene from the enchanted forest chronicles). I am not yet sure. But feeling very excited.
My theme at the moment is just random items I like strewn about everywhere. xD But I’m hoping to make either a cat theme or a rainbow theme! Though I’m not sure if the cat theme would work out, as I have Marshal and Limberg as permanent villagers... (my sister plays with me in my island and she loves them both)
I've mostly got a cozy, rustic cottagecore vibe going on in my island. theres lots of cute little areas like a honey farm and a witch hollow as well as little villager neighbourhoods where there are a couple of houses that look similar (or will once I have all my dreamies). I know a lot of people say that cottagecore is super overdone on NH but it feels super comfy and nice to me when I'm running around on my island so it doesn't bother me too much
I just ran around my island today and decorated with approx. 25 ducks since I got the duck decoy DIY today so stay tuned, it may end up being overrun in a couple weeks haha
The theme for my first island is everywhere: elegant / royal, zen, wedding, tropical, urban, amusement parks, gothic, mini Santorini, psychedelic space forest, and flower fields galore.
The tentative theme for my second island is most likely going to be around pokemon. It could change depending on what new items are released throughout the years. I plan to leave the island untouched for now.
My island is a mess. It's something along the lines of a "monster-infested island" but I don't think there are enough furniture options for me to really make it look like that.
I know people are sick of cottagecore, but that's close to what I'd like. I want my town to look cozy for the fall and winter. I really don't like the modernized town themes that much.
If I was forced to say that my island was a theme, then I would say it is an Animal Crossing theme. My island seems to be shaped around my villagers and it really reminds me of an upgraded form of my New Leaf town. Not a lot of fancy stuff is going around aside from villager yards and tree-lined walkways. The only "fancy" stuff I have on my island is a playground, a free DIY stand (holds 8 DIYS), a pumpkin patch, a Tudor Garden, and my museum plaza. Out of it all, the museum plaza is the fanciest thing because that is where I have my one and only pond, my rock garden, my rainbow garden, my future lilly of the valley and gold rose garden, and a little witch cove.
But really, I focus on my villagers the most in my landscaping. The first thing you see when you fly into my island is Sherb's house!
Mine’s an American/European mountainside town in autumn. I’ve been working at it for awhile, but the final touches still need to be put in place and I gotta decorate 2 of my characters’ houses. uwu
I can’t wait for the Toy Day tents though! I’ve been needing to fill a space in my large campsite, which already has the campsite and a character’s tent. Bdsjfnskdk
My island is a rundown/rusty East Coast sailing town, with some (eventual) horror elements inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. So far it's a work in progress, but I'm really enjoying my theme!
