What kind of theme does your island have (if any)?

there's no concrete theme, but in general i've covered my island with rainbow hybrids in random patterns!

Overall, I've themed my island after an Aviary where all of my retired birds (villagers) can live their lives in luxury.
Within that, I lean heavily into the garden/nature aesthetic with rock gardens, orchards, and seemingly "pretty" vistas by my own standpoint.
Within that though, I also have areas that are themed for individual villagers.
For example:
Phoebe's area is a Phoenix Firepit, so it has more of a summer-y bonfire-esque theme
Julia's area is a Peacock park, so it has a more vibrant, colorful, and fun aesthetic
Cranston's area is a bamboo forest, so it heavily leans into a Japanese aesthetic

I try to keep things consistent while also having all these other individual little themes going to make things more interesting and less of the same throughout the entire island.

i'm planning on having a korean island (since i'm korean and love the scenery there!). i want to have a mainland that's more urban, like seoul, and further back will be the countryside!

I don't have a theme yet because I'm lazy as heck lol. I do want to make my island space themed with a bunch of the DIY's Celeste gives you. I also want to have black and white colors for different furniture outside. I just don't know what to put outside lol

Mine's sorta about old ruins and spooky faerie stuff. I got a ruined castle, an open-air cathedral that used to have a roof, a meteorite impacted hill with a stone circle on it, a Stonehenge with a king stone, an old cliffside lighthouse, and a spooky forest with a faerie feast nearby (DO NOT EAT THE FOOD). There's also Coco's house, which is sort of like a shamans hut. But it's mostly been modernised a bit, with Asian culture and modern infrastructure brought in by holidaymakers and new residents.
I dunno what kinda 'core' it counts as.

At this point in my island development, I'm getting pretty close to the theme I've been imagining for it so far. Since my island's name is Atlantis, well... you can imagine what that must look like. (Or not. It's okay. I really had no clue where I was going with it, either. xD) But, basically, I've been filling it up with all kinds of historical items and stuff that I've luckily managed to find (usually via trading here), along with all my fossil sets~ It's coming along together quite nicely, I think. :) Right now, the main decorations/attractions are a mixture of dinosaurs fossils, pyramids, sphinx, monster statues, dinosaur toys, forest-y/mossy items (including tons of weeds around the island), and I'm hoping some more aquatic/sea-themed stuff soon! I'll see how it goes ^^ I'm just having a lot of fun building it up right now~

I have not made mine yet, but I would love to make mine space themed and also black and white themed. I'm just so lazy and unmotivated plus I don't know what to really do.

It's called " Liberty ", so I have a Liberty park with the statue of Liberty and red, white and blue flowers. The rest of the town is bright and colorful.

other than that, it's just mostly cute with a few funny areas. I kind of think of my Island as a retirement home for the rich. I didn't plan it that way, but the villagers have beach homes, there's a very fancy hotel, and restaurant, and the campsite is really nice.

It's island themed.

In all seriousness, I don't really get too serious with the designing until a year after playing. Since I've done all the year events and the such, I'll have more resources to work with.

My first town is my go to - usual rural/minimal modern touch east Asia inspired village...which I guess might be boring to some but I like the decor too much to not use them throughout so.

My second town is more horror/dark themed and based on a folklore story about a Selkie. Selkies are one of my favorite mythological creatures. :) The plan is for it to tell a story kinda like Aika did back in NL just more so about selkies <3. It doesn't have much going on currently, as I want to finish my first town before the second.

Yo, Selkies are one of my favorite types of mythological creatures, too! If my island weren’t distinctly woodland-themed, I’d for sure have a selkie character (and even still, there’s a nonzero chance that I’ll eventually make one anyways lol)

its like... a soft/light/basic but cute theme?? colors like white, beige, pink, gray, etc that are easy on the eyes. i was doing a pink theme but i got so sick of it bc its just too much pink lol

My island is vaguely space/glowy themed. I have an outdoor space museum as well as nova/mush/hyacinth lamps everywhere. The downside is that during the day it's not as cute and the nova lamps in particular get a bit repetitive.

I feel like it's hard to have a specific theme in NH. As much as I love the game, the lack of furniture options means it's hard to keep an entire island on-theme without quite a bit of repetition or some areas looking strange.
