Do you use hair products that claim they're for a certain type of hair? If so, do you think they work?

I have long, straight/slightly wavy hair, and I use shampoo and conditioner that say they're for smooth and silky hair. I have no idea if they're more effective than any other hair products, but they're still nice.

I have straight East Asian hair and I just use whatever brand is available in the big size and has a brand name I've heard of! I think right now the shampoo and conditioners are volumizing with moisture, but I've also used dry hair shampoo and anti-breakage shampoos with virtually no difference to the regular stuff. So I just use whatever is at hand now and it's working out for me 😄

I imagine my experience would be different if I have my hair bleached though, and would absolutely invest in something that is better for damaged hair!

I have very curly hair, so moisturising and curl activating stuff is my go-to

I'm still trying to find the right shampoo for me. The current combination that I use is Herbal Essence's Shine with chamomile shampoo and Tresseme's conditioner. However, it leaves me dandruff, so I have to use a clarifying shampoo about once a week.

I forgot to mention that I have oily hair that somehow still frizzes.

I mostly use Head and Shoulders which is for the scalp. I also use something stronger sometimes cuz sometimes I get a few of these little grain things on my scalp that feel like sand. It's something that is recent and annoys me. It clears it up. Hard water can cause it but so can skin conditions.
When my scalp seems fine, I'll use this Gardiner for straight hair cuz we have it but I don't care for it.

My hair is slightly wavy, thin or average thickness, but with high strand density. I just use the shampoo/conditioner from The Innate Life so since that‘s in Canada the shipping can be annoying, but for something so useful to me I can deal with that. I also like their rosehip oil.

Still haven’t found anything to fully beat my dandruff unfortunately. Their scalp mask helped too but it hasn’t beat it. Idk. I’ve had it as long as I’ve known.

I don't know what these options really are. I just use a particular brand that suits my hair best.

As a man, I buy the one that moisturises my scalp and prevents dandruff. I hate dandruff.

I'm not the best with hair-care (I'm more obsessed with skin care) but I use products that are supposed to be very moisturizing and prevent breakage (especially for colored and/or treated hair). I also use a purple shampoo. I can't remember the brand names but they work very well for me.

haven't found a good shampoo yet because I've been spending a while figuring out my scalp's oil level. I think I need something for dry hair because my hair is constantly dry and frizzy, even when using jojoba oil. 😭

but besides that I use a very lightweight conditioner, because my hair has waves (or very loose curls) and regular conditioner weighs it down. though I'm still trying to find the best brand for this as well.

edit: forgot that I commented here hehe. I now understand that my scalp is very dry (as in, very dry), so I use a super moisturizing shampoo for that. I also use a regular shampoo to remove product buildup before using the moisturizing shampoo. and then of course, a lightweight conditioner. I think I have my routine down to an art now, though my hair is still a little dry.

I recently had keratin treatment done to combat a longrunning nemesis of mine so anything anti-frizz without silicone works good. A friend has recommended redken extreme repair set which i have not tried yet tho

I don’t care for hair treatment. I just use any men’s shampoo. I’m not fussy; I’d use stuff from the Dollar Tree.

Not gonna lie, I just use dove products from Walmart. My hair can get dry on the ends from dyeing it so I always use a moisturizing conditioner.

the cheapest i can find! one day maybe i'll invest in some good hair products, but my hair isn't particularly dramatic so i don't need anything crazy

I have very thick hair, naturally has a wave but straightened for years so it’s mostly gone.

I use a keratin treatment to straighten and defrizz so I need to use a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner.

I use "anti-oxidant" shampoo and conditioner for all/regular hair types. It's from an Italian all-natural ingredients brand.

i use OGX conditioner for curly hair- my hair is wavy, but gets some pretty crazy thick ringlets when i use this. i ADORE this stuff. smells great, makes my hair incredibly smooth, and my boyfriend with actually curly textured hair loves it too. a little goes a long way with it, surprisingly. my thyroid is failing so my hair texture is pretty dry and awful but this stuff helps SO MUCH.

I use the Diane Extra Damage Repair shampoo and conditioner and I think they make my hair very soft and they smell good for days at a time. I tried the Extra Shine from their line too but I felt like it made my hair drier so I'm sticking to the Extra Damage Repair line
