I have seen these red treasure chests in screen shots of people's towns. Could someone let me know what they are/ how to get them?

Those are loose items, just like how you drop the bags. I think they are wetsuits, which can only be obtained if you go to the island.

It could also be mystery bag, toy hammer, and megaphone, just as an fyi. My town has all of these in case you ever wanna dream of my town and play with them or try them out.

I think they're tools. The red are standard tools, they turn silver for silver ones and gold for gold tools.
