what is the point of eating?

why is there even an eating option? like there's no effect or anything beneficial when you eat something edible. and i hate it when i accidentally eat my ice cream and i have to close the game without saving..

As you said yourself, there is no point except the minor expressions your character can do when eating specific food such as perfect fruit.

I don't know if anyone knows this but if you eat a famous mushroom just like in Mario you grow like super big and there is a circle around you when it happens. It is by far the coolest thing to it. It only last for two seconds but it blew my mind when it happened. it even had the sound effect of growing like in the Mario games. You should try it out one day.
As far as other edibles yes not to much too it really. I just think they put it in there to make it seam more real to life that you CAN eat something.

The sound effects of your character munching on fruit is cool too lol, but really useful when you're low on space I do it a lot.
