What is the best way to get your dream villagers into your town?

I am very new to Bell Tree Forums and was wondering what the best way to obtain your dream villagers is.
In my town I only have one of my dream villagers (Lolly) and would be very grateful if you were to give me some advice .

Check the villager trading plaza... I have gotten a bunch of my dreamies for free over there thanks to many very kind people here I tried the camper reset trick but out of like 25 resets only got 3 campers and they all sucked/:

Personally, I find resetting when villagers are due to move in with a new character works well (say if someone just moved out, before booting up the game with your Mayor, you would start a new character to find the new animal's plot the next day). Failing that, the trading threads are good but some villagers go for many millions of bells... Remember that Animal Crossing is to be taken slow, and half the fun is warming up to villagers you thought you wouldn't like! Good luck!

I have had really great villagers enter my town from doing the campsite reset trick. You have to find a day that has a good possibility of a camper showing up. You just have to try out a few different dates until you find a good one. I've had Stitches, Bob, Zell, Marina and Ankha through this method It's very time consuming though.

Another really good way is to do the villager reset trick, when you have a new villager moving in (if you have 8 villagers or less) and keep resetting until you find your dream villager has planted their plot. I prefer this method, because there is a much much much higher chance of seeing a villager appear each time, but I usually have 9 villagers so I've only been able to use this method twice ^^
