What if You Could Create Your Own In-Game Villager?

I would definitely make a villager that is a horse (because there aren't donkeys) that looks like a pinata.
Brightly coloured paper mache coat, he would be a smug because he used to looking down on everybody and his hobby would be fitness (boxing in particular but he isnt very good at because he's a pinata).

I have Violet and she's beautiful. I'd love a pink peppy gorilla. Rocket is cool but if she changes her shirt her whole outfit is ruined.

I wish Nintendo would have a contest where people could submit their designs and the community votes on a couple to become permanent villagers. That would be so fun not only to build even more interest in the game but it could bring more people together and spark even more creativity out of what is already a very creative fanbase!

If the voting thing is controversial and could be made so we could just vote for a top group of villagers and then the developers could pick from a shortlist.

I like this idea. That would be cool to see. Maybe have it to where they want a new look for each species, that way there is more than one entry that could be used.

They're so cute! I was thinking about making my parents dog into a wolf the other day. She's like a mix of German Shepard and Great Dane. I love dogs.

I actually used to do this in NL and City Folk by editing textures and hex codes ;-; It's really awesome ahhh I made a bear cub after one of my plushies. I'm also considering making one in CF for my late cat ;;

You could do that? I know they updated New Leaf once and it ruined a lot of peoples customized towns. Are you still able to change the hex codes and textures in New Leaf?

I'd love this! I'd probably be a snooty or uchi deer. I'd love the option to play as an animal for once like a lot of other users have said. I hope they add owls as a regular villager species though because I'd probably be one instead of a deer.

I'm still able to yes. I own three copies of the game and one of them has custom villagers for Skye and I believe Caroline??? It's been a while admittedly!

I was looking at my avatar, and then I also thought about how I've seen some cool and cute original character villagers online. If Animal Crossing: New Horizons allowed you to create one villager in Animal Crossing, almost like how you can create yourself in this game, would you do it? You'd also be able to change their species, color palette, clothes, personality, etc. at any given moment, too, just in case you wanted something else. It would definitely bring out villagers you couldn't find anywhere else. I don't see this ever happening, as it'd probably be complex. Still, I think it would be cool.
