I've tt'd over 15 days now and ankha hasn't moved in.
Things I know:
I DID invite her
There was a successful save
I had 9 villagers
No one else has moved in
She wasn't one of the last 16 to move (new town)

what happened to ankha 3:

:( Hmm...who can say. Did the person check their house after you left and confirm that it said moved out?

Obviously if it's been 15 days (TT or not) she's not moving in... :( So sorry.

Aw, I'm sorry this happened :c

Was someone moving out of your town on the day you invited her in? I once invited someone in when another villager was moving and it took over two weeks for them to arrive. It was ridiculous. -_-
So maybe that happened..? I'd say you should just wait a few more days.

It doesn't. I've given tons of people villagers and TT'd afterwards. They still always showed up in their town 1-3 days after.

But I always check their houses to make sure it says moved out. So hopefully the person that had ankha did. :(

Cheating has its repercussions. Sorry. :|

And TTing isn't cheating nor does it have repercussions on a villager moving in if invited...but nice try. :)

Oh gosh. At most it should take 2 days for somebody you've invited to plot their house down (maybe 3 if you invited them from a campsite).

Try to contact the person who sold/gave you Ankha and ask them if their house said "moved out" after you picked her up. I think it's a bit odd how she hasn't showed up yet... I hope she somehow shows up soon! Hopefully it's not a "ghost plot" case... That would really REALLY suck.

lol @ TTing being cheating

Amykins - I don't think the rate of TT should matter between the two players. I tried to convince Tia to move from one of my towns to the other before realizing that my town had 10 villagers. So I went back to my town, TT'd to move someone out, went back to Tia and convinced her to move out, went back to my town and TT'd until she moved in. All while not TTing in the other town. So I don't think that had anything to do with it.

Are you sure she agreed to move to your town? Just talking to her won't convince her to move to your town. :c The other player should have confirmed after you talked to her or left to see if she was still there. If she is still in the house after the adopter leaves, then it didn't work.

"ghost plot"? What's that, Krissi?

Apparently there have been cases where the villagers are said to have moved into your town, but their house doesn't physically show up. It shows up on the map, but the house/villager isn't actually there.

I remember reading a thread about it + the causes a while back... I'll try to find it for you since I'm bad at explaining things.

After you asked her to move in, that person couldn't then have another person ask her to move into a different town after you?
Kind of like a scam?
I don't quite know how this stuff works though.

No, not typically. After a villager agrees to go to your town their house is shut and no one can go in. It also says moved out if you try...
If the player leaves your town and the house isn't that way then inviting them didn't work and usually it's do to that fact that the person may have a tenth plot without knowing or they've had that villager before without having cycled 16 others since.

Nope! After somebody picks up the villager, they "move out" instantly, as seen here:

This was right after my friend came and picked Lily up from my town.

That sounds like one heck of a nightmarish glitch...so not only is the villager NOT there, but it prevents others from moving in, too? I wonder if they're just 'under the world'. I've never seen it happen in an AC game, though, but anything's possible, I guess?

Yep. No villagers can move in or move out because the game registers the house not being there, but it shows up on the map. Apparently if you attempt to go into a dream town with this glitch, the game crashes. You try to walk through the invisible house, the game crashes. You open up the villager list, the game crashes... So it's pretty bad. Usually if you're hit by this glitch, you have to reset cause it breaks your game.

Interesting, I'd love to see that too if you track it down.

I think I read somewhere once that someone went to invite a villager and instead of saving/ending...they just had the host save so they could play for a bit and supposedly the villager never showed in their town. So I'm not sure how plausible that is if you don't leave directly afterwards...seems doubtful.

I picked up Phoebe at somebody's town once. They saved + continued and then I payed and she still showed up in my town afterwards... So I don't think that "You need to save + quit" rumor is true since she still appeared in my town after a day of inviting her.

I doubt there needs to be another TTing ethics debate...

Of course there doesn't, but these anti-TT'ers just love to rub it in our faces at any opportunity, don't they? :p

@Krissi: That's scary. And weird, I worked on this game when I was at NOA and as far as I know, none of the QA staff came across this. Or if they did, the devs never fixed it...that was, sadly, a common occurrence. "Could Not Reproduce" became the bane of the testing department since if anything drastic was found after the game launch they're the ones who get blamed.

hmm, weird. I wonder if the host talked to the villager after the adopter to make sure the villager was moving to her town. I don't understand why staying would change that. I wonder if they experienced an error at any point during their play. I don't see how that would effect an already saved game, but idk. :c
