What is something that you think would improve the next Animal Crossing game?

It's about time that there was the ability to play as a person of color. Nintendo is really dropping the ball by having all of their avatar characters play as monochromatic white folks. Pokemon finally got the ability to have different skin tones. Why not Animal Crossing?

Secondly, and way less important, let's add facial hair that isn't an item.

Well you can change the skin tone by tanning.

I would love if they add a vehicle because my retail is far away from my home... I also want them to add a farming section thingy, that would be fun!

I think the next Animal Crossing game just needs to exist.

Other than that,I'd like to see more varied and interesting interactions with the villagers, for example when they ask you to visit their home, instead of just awkwardly standing around talking to them, you could play mini-games with them instead. Also,I demand a lazy wolf,a peppy wolf,a peppy koala,a cranky duck,an uchi duck and.......a #$%&!! smug cat!

A subway.

After seeing some Let's Plays of Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion, where the story now takes place in a subway,
I would love to have one in the new Animal Crossing game. Basically replacing the train station, having a
underground part in your town which is kinda spooky, yet not too spooky and where you also meet some
weird villagers (maybe a inspiration for new villagers?). Some little shops there would be also nice (I could
imagine Redd having a little "shop" there, selling fake paintings and other items for high prices like he did
in City Folk). Maybe the subway is at the beginning dirty and not in it's best condition and the longer you
play, the more options you have to re-design it and make it better (like a PWP which can be upgraded
from time to time). I always wanted a big town with more buildings, shops and such and a subway would
be something new, something a Animal Crossing game didn't had yet.

Bring back how the crankies & snooties really were.
Love the dozens of stuff they added to New Leaf, of course. But how dare them remove some of the original aspects that isn?t really bad. Sports fest, anyone?

Which brings me to the villagers doing more activities that are in line with their personalities.
The dialogues can also get very boring & repetitive. I get that they can only say so much, but it?s hard to think of something more annoying than getting a ping, be all excited about it, only for them to say something they have said a thousand times. I have already told you dozen of times you can wear better clothes, Marcie.

They also need to have certain plots for residential. I can?t stress enough how you?re the mayor yet you can?t control where villagers move in. Really spoils the ?customizable? town feature & plot resetting is just a tedious work that we shouldn?t even deal with.

Finally, this really isn?t that necessary & I doubt they will ever do this but would love more interactions with NPC?s. Or us just seeing them and being able to befriend them outside of their work, when shops are closed.

I think the next Animal Crossing game just needs to exist.

Idk why I just screamed

I'd like to see a toolbox where you can place all of your tools in (it could be the same size as your letter holder) and it would allow you to store more items in your pockets.

bigger, multi level towns, and being able to choose your skin tone

In a word, more. More animals, more shops, more items, more space, more plants, more RVs.

Just give me all the great things in New Leaf, but more of everything and in beautiful HD.

I feel like most of us would also love this idea, seeing as a lot of towns create 2nd character houses with Cafe type designs, a new building for shops created by us would be neat. It?s a bit silly that Brewster strictly only sells coffee. It?ll be interesting to have the Animal Crossing franchise expand to having more buildings. I guess they are open to it, as we see on Happy Home Designer. Should be on the next game that these establishments are more than just designing.

- the ability to be bald without resorting to the Mii makeup so my boyfriend can look more like himself in the game.

- being roommates with your favorite villager and the ability to sleep in a bunk bed with the roomie taking the other bunk.

- my friend suggested this one and I think it's a great idea: bird watching! Binoculars could be a tool and you could snap pictures of them once you see them. Then you could show Blathers the pictures. Or you could automatically sketch them in a sketchbook once your binoculars found a new bird and show Blathers the sketches.

- please bring Woolio out of retirement so I can have him in my town.

Bring me Pocket Camp furniture. >:'o I can't play the game since I let my sister use my phone to play, (she doesn't have a compatible one) and I'm not paying $85 minimum for a basic tablet just to play a mobile Animal Crossing game.

But bring back Huggy, Rhoda, alongside some of the other things people have mentioned here. Make PWPs more easily accessible. PLEASE. I hate being unable to customize my town fully the way I would like, relying on an algorithm that spits 'any' request about as often as one catches a saddled bichir. >:'| I can catch 5 Dorado in one day, but that? Forget it.

Also some toggle modes for gameplay maybe. Like how we have ordinances, can choose Resetti; can we have a choice not to see scorpions or tarantulas for those of the faint of heart? Or GameCube-esque dialogue for villagers?

More personalities. Bring in the ceiling fixtures from HHD. Make a toggle for Amiibo villagers moving. More hybrids, fish, bugs, more places to explore and things to do. Storyline progress with the NPCs as we've seen. Better chat functionality, maybe bring back the USB keyboard functionality.

Also, I have this idea I've been toying with for a while... (It's about to get dark.) But I want Tortimer to have suddenly disappeared from the game. No one offers you an explanation, and his picture is still up in Town Hall. It's implied through dialogue from Blathers, Isabelle and the Able Sisters that 'things haven't been the same since he left' but never actually directly said, or cut off in time. I want to see my little friends recovering from the loss but still pretending everything's fine, and I feel like the only one that would tell the honest truth (aside from Resetti making some comment about how Tortimer would've been proud of you' in one of his guilt trip rants) is Pete. You catch him during one of his 5pm deliveries and he reveals all, how everyone is coping including Phyllis (surprise) who acts like she wasn't affected but really cared and is taking it hard.

I want progression without Tortimer in an obviously non-triggering family friendly way to be the next chapter.

Just needs to be bigger. I'd love a bigger map, bigger town center, maybe even two towns!! I'd love an easier way to have people visit each other's towns. Skin colors is definitely something that could be changed, and maybe even a specific path shop since that's something that's been so widely incorporated to the games.

Actually, I think it might be implied that Frillard passed away sometime before New Leaf. According to the Animal Crossing Wiki, Shrunk will occasionally talk about missing him. I've yet to see any screenshots of it though. I'll probably go into Club LOL and see if I can get him to say it.

You're right, he does! But I never thought of it like that! It makes a lot of sense now.

Edit: I've been getting the emotions over again since I sold my town and he does say something to the effect of 'I only hope I can do it as well as he did.'

Well you can change the skin tone by tanning.

Tanning is an awful lot of work for somebody just trying to maitain the correct skin color. And tanning doesn't even go that dark.

However, a vehicle and farming would definitely be pretty cool as well! I would just be super worried about grass deterioration.

Definitely agree with the skin tone suggestion. I think it's much needed; Pocket Camp got it right.

I would love to see new species of villagers, new villagers of old species, more activities, more customization of towns, etc. What about new festivals and holidays exclusive to Animal Crossing? Maybe we could have some holidays that specific countries might have, but others don't (would be a neat way to allow people to learn about other cultures at the same time). I actually love how we can select outfits for our villagers in Pocket Camp; maybe something like that? So many ideas... I want all of the features we had in New Leaf, with a dash of Pocket Camp features, and brand new ones all wrapped up into one cool product of a game!

-For the villagers would interact with things and each other more. Yeah, it happens in NL, but it's kinda rare (at least for me). I remember in City Folk they were ALWAYS mad at each other, lol. Idk, it brings more life. In NL they're all kinda copy-paste feeling.

-Maybe a new species?

-This is a stretch, but it's a pwp wish of mine. Bring back the balloon stand! Nobody is ever on streetpass anymore and I have to buy all the balloons from here, lmao ;v;

-More event days! They're always complaining about no new events, and honestly, same.
