What do you think about the Kirby Franchise?

i remember playing kirby games in mcdonalds. they had machines i'm guessing.

Kirby air ride was probably the most fun. i would play with my siblings & we'd have ffffffuuuuuuunnnn :D..
I love Kirby!
Still have that game. I love it.

I love kirby so much! I'd say the games are for everyone, with their main flaw being that they can be too easy. Especially squeak squad, that was ridiculous.

Kirby pun: What's pink and sucks?

<3 Kirby

Now if only they could pump out a few more Kirby games, they took to long to make Epic Yarn.
...no...

a few more/more frequent console releases would be nice, but there's no shortage of kirby on handheld systems.

I still have to beat super star ultra due to losing it D:but its accually really easy.on the Great Cave Offensive level i only got 40/60 treasure chests but it still let me out :/

I can get all the stuff in great cave offensive in <an hour, an hour and a half or so.

*censored.2.0*'s etched into my memory forever. @_@

Go look at BB's previous posts.
i dont understand what it is
it's the last boss from kirby and the crystal shards.

it's basically an embodiment of pure darkness/evil, in the nifty form of an eyeball.
he's insinuating that that's too scary for a kids game. i was never afraid of that, but then again i wasn't <10 when i played crystal shards.
kirby games are great. they have neat little quirks that you can feel really cool about being able to pull off.

they're kinda like megaman to some people, i guess. except easier. kirby games are short enough that you can speed run easily/many times, and
kirby games are godly. their only real flaw is that they're terribly short, and as of late they've become terribly childish/awful.
epic yarn is great, i guess, but the co op could have been worlds better, in my opinion.
no kirby game, save for maybe the remake, will ever hold a candle to super star.
none.

marx is the most badass boss that ever was, or ever will be. a cutesy clown who gets the power to basically destroy worlds, fly around, twist space to his pleasure, and do other *censored.2.0*?
holy balls, if kirby wasn't so easy, that would be a crazy *censored.3.0*ing boss. think about having that in an FPS, or some other genre/series with better graphics.
yeah. i shat myself a little, too.
i dont see how thats scary... i doubt id find anything of the sorts scary at age 10 or younger... unless i was some sheltered kid that had never seen anything outside of teletubies or barney maybe... :S but anyway yeah, i think kirby is generally directed towards younger kids, though older people might find some fun in it for an hour or so. i dont really enjoy those games anymore, i prefer my left 4 dead, halo, force unleashed, etc and such.

@Psychonaut I have the Dyna Blade level etched into my brains oh god im running through the level in my head right now @)-(@

We have a Quote button. But if you like to use the old fashion way then go for it brother!

in my opinion i think hammer is the best kind of Kirby if you can get the moves down you'll be unbeatable.i accually beat most (or a big chunk at least)of the game as hammer Kirby from the first time you fight Bonkers and then for like 2 hours after that:)<3 Hammer Kirby!^-^

I don't either, but eh. i was translating for you, since you didn't understand.

kirby isn't totally childish, but it's nowhere as mature as... mature games. that doesn't mean it doesn't have gameplay, or is just *censored.2.0* that's peddled to kids for a quick buck.

but eh.

edit: also, yo-yo used to be godly in superstar. in ultra, its weaker and hammer is way too strong.. but i guess that's what hammer is.

yo yo and plasma = yesyes.

oh, yeah i know. i just cant really see people over the age of 15 playing it as more than just a casual thing on the family wii when bored. but w/e. guess it all comes down to opinions.

Basically you like mature games then a E game.

I think the Kirby franchise has been awesome since it when on the Gamecube. After that I was disappointed..

I like story / character driven games which generally tend to be rated like you said, mature.

Kirby is yes, and he is also yes.

Love Kirby's Dreamland to pieces, beat that game so many times.
ONLY LIKE, 4 LEVELS AND THEN YOU FIGHT EVERY BOSS AGAIN AND THEN DEDEDE.

:} teehee (I edited your quote with a shameless advertisement. :) )

Kirby's Epic Yarn has fluid motion, something that lacked in most of Kirby games (save Air Ride). It also has a soundtrack that, IMO and in many other people's opinions, is better than the SMG soundtracks. The gameplay is fun if you're pushing for 100%. Then, it's extremely difficult, like most kirby games when pushing for 100% or on Hard mode with minimum health.

I remember playing that on my brick gameboy. :p

:/

>video games
>story/character driven games

>my face when games should be about gameplay

and.. if that's what you mean.. the new kirby has much more "story" than any past kirby has had.. save maybe for maybe a few of the superstar games, but those are kinda mini-games, or something.

but eh.

@ bacon boy, i don't necessarily care for the soundtrack.. older kirby games felt better. i dunno.
i don't care for the fluid motion, it detracts from the controls of the game.
i really really hate the co op, but eh.

100% on a kirby game shouldn't be about grinding, imo.. which is what this one will end up being, since you have the whole currency/buying stuff thing.. the house decorating is just BS, imo. nice, but completely unnecessary.. :(
