What do you call your "significant other"?

I'm not dating anyone but if I were I would call them "pardner" when talking about them to other people because I haven't thought of a good reason yet but I don't feel that I need one

I don't like pet names though. I don't really like boyfriend/girlfriend/partner either. It doesn't bother me when other people say them, but I just can't use them. I just refer to people by their names when talking about them to other people and "hey" when I'm talking to them and need to get their attention.

That's what makes it more fun. I could also use "pal" or "champ" if I want to mix things up a bit. It sounds like I'm joking but I would probably do this if I could get away with it, if only to amuse myself.
