So long time ago i was new to animal crossing and starts playing new leaf. I WAS very new and i always do crazy stuff on the game, such as:

-i thought you can catch fish with a net. Once time i see a shark, i didnt bring my rod so i whack my net to the shark and it failed. Of course. I thought i was doing a wrong thing so when i see another big fish and a shark i keep whacking them. Until i realize all i did is a mistake lol.

- i have kidd and t-bone in my town, i thought kidd was t Bone son and i thought t Bone was Russian because his interior and his deep voice and when i meet another cranky i realize every rude male villager have the same voice.

- Lolly and t-bone arranged a picnic together, i start eavesdropping on them and they say they will invite me, i get so excited and when their conversation is done i keep spamming Lolly and hope she say anything about the picnic. I keep waiting and searching in google about "why is my villager wont invite me to picnic acnl" and i found no results, i realize it was all just add ons.

-i always sell non assassed Fossil.

- i always thought if you selling assessed Fossil is a good way to make money. Until i realize my museum is blank lol.

- i thought eating fruit does a thing and i keep eating perfect fruits.

My first game was Wild World. I was 9 when I started playing. I just couldn't fish. I have no idea why, but I just could not figure it out. It took until City Folk for me to figure it out. I even paid off my entire house and all the upgrades without being able to fish. And I was doing it by selling common bugs, shells, and my native fruit because that's all I had. Honestly I don't know how I accomplished that, I can't even imagine how many hours it took me to do that.

Me too! I was unable to fish too when i first started. I thought when they first bite it Its time to pull them from the water. When i frist get a fish, which is crucian carp, i keep that carp on my entire house at all time lol

I wasn't completely new to the series, but I made a few mistakes when I started New Leaf.

- I sold the first perfect fruit I found thinking more would grow. I was anxious to get out of the tent and into a home. The prospect of, I think, 600 bells was very enticing. I had no idea that a year later, I still wouldn't have another perfect fruit. I ended up having to trade with my husband to finally get one to plant in my own town. Luckily, we both had the same native fruit.

- I didn't know how birthdays worked. When Monty's birthday came around and I received the invitation in the mail, I wanted to get him a gift. But I was used to mailing gifts to my villagers by then, so the day before his birthday I wrapped up his present, attached it to a thoughtfully written letter, and sent it from the post office. On his birthday, I arrived at his house and found him wearing the shirt I had sent him! But then, when I talked to him, he asked for a gift and I realized my mistake. I didn't want to say no so I gave him the only thing I had in my inventory, a balloon-dog lamp from the balloon I had just popped outside his house. He did not like it and I was so upset that I had disappointed him. After that, I knew to bring my gifts with me to villager birthday parties.

I dont remember making any big mistakes but im sure I probably did. It was so long ago now. I dont remember much about my first town other than playing it for the first time on the train home after buying my 3ds.

When I first started playing NL, I thought that villagers would get mad at you if you didn't ask them to stay when they told you they were moving. Thus, I had my original villagers, some of whom I disliked, for a good few years because I didn't want them mad at me.

Haha that is both silly and cute!

I started with New Leaf and this is what I can remember.

-I didn't know exactly how moving works so my favorite villager at the time left me without even asking.
-I didn't understand how Toy Day worked and I actually tried to obtain the presents everyone was hinting they wanted.
-I didn't know the character's appearance wasn't random and it was actually caused by my choices when talking to Rover. This made me get stuck with eyes I don't like in my first town.

I did the same thing with Toy Day! I remember getting pretty stressed when I couldn't find something a villager wanted.

SAME omg. wild world was my first game, too and it deadass took me a few years to figure out how to fish, since i didn’t think to look it up online or anything lol. i genuinely have no idea as to why i had such a hard time with it, but i managed to finally figure it out at like,, 4am on some random day 💀. younger you sounded iconic as hell, though; determined to make bank even though you couldn’t fish lol. i’m glad that we both figured it out!

Even though I wasn't new to the series, these are two mistakes I made with New Leaf features that were not in previous games.

1. I took notes on what my villagers wanted for my first Toy Day, but I didn't make sure to get both clues from every villager. So I got most of the gifts right, but when I got to the last two, I was clueless. Both items fit the partial clues I knew; I had to take a chance, and I guessed wrong. Oops.

2. Then there was the time I dug up my first time capsule and opened it before taking it back to Big Top. He was so disappointed in me.

I definitely sold my perfect fruit in New Leaf because I didn't have any clue how it worked. But the big thing it took me a while to figure out was unorderable items. I have sold a lot stuff before without checking to see if it was reorderable, only to find out that it's not and I wouldn't be able to get it back.

My biggest one in NL was I bought Pudge and Roscoe on the same day. I ended up getting Roscoe but not Pudge because I didn’t wait. oof. 😅😣

when i was little and playing wild world for the first time i had no idea what to expect. at the start of the game kapp'n asked me where i wanted to go and i thought he meant real places! i thought if i put in a real place he would actually take me there in the game. and that's how my first town ever got the name tokyo LOL

When I started New Horizons, I ate the three oranges Mum sent.

I see a lot of fruit-based mishaps on this thread! 😂

When I started NL I didn't understand how the museum worked at all so I never gave ANYTHING to blathers at any point until like a year and a half after I started playing, so my museum was barren for quite some time lol

-when I unlocked the sewing machine behind stable, I had no idea what it did. I went around trying to scan random things with the camera until I somehow found out that you scanned QR codes with it. I had no idea what a QR code was, keep in mind I was 9 or 10.

-digging up fossils. I didn’t even bother bringing them to blathers and sold them to reese.

-while trying to upgrade my house for the first time from a tent, I only sold peaches and sea shells to retail. I think I knew how to catch fish and bugs but I don’t know why I just sold fruit and shells. It took me almost 30 minutes to reach 10,000 bells but it felt longer.

-on toy day I remember villagers hinting what they wanted like a week before but I forgot and gave them whatever. I still did this years later, I just gave them what I thought they wanted.

-went on club tortimer and interacted with the psychopaths on there. i also broke a couple rules, that wasn’t a mistake though lol. that’s a whole ‘nother story.

This isn't really a mistake per se but when I first started playing New Leaf (it was my first AC game) I used to think villagers would take/steal my items if I left them on the ground, so I'd always be very cautious about putting stuff down like dropping an item, bells, etc, because I was worried they'd take it when I wasn't looking. lol

I gave a villager a boot, thinking they would like it, thinking they could wear it. Then when they got really upset I was so confused, and sad because they didnt like my gift lol

So I decided to not gift them for.awhile

I talked a villager's ear off, and after they got depressed (Still dont understand why) then I decided not to talk to them as often. Just leave them alone for awhile lol
