Weird thing with the treasure hunt game?

Biff asked me to play the treasure hunt game. I found the item within the time, and so then the timer ended. On my way back to Biff, I talked to a couple animals I passed cuz I just like to talk to them when I see them. First was Bea who just had a normal conversation with me. But then, I ran into Plucky, who said something about congratulations for finding it within the time, but “I can’t let you keep it” and then she took the gift from me! Like just straight out of my inventory gone.

When I talked to Biff he acted like I had found it, and wanted to open it for me. So it opened my inventory, where the present no longer was, and the only thing I could do was hit the B button to cancel the conversation. For the rest of the day the same thing would happen when I talked to Biff, only the next day did he stop asking to open the box I did not have.

It was clearly specifically programmed dialogue, so I feel like it’s not a glitch but??? It was just so strange

That happened to me as well. I had a treasure hunt and after finding it, I talked to one of my villagers around town and took it from my inventory and the villager that requested it kept asking even though I don't have it, I fixed it though by restarting the game.

Wow that's actually such a horrible glitch Dx I hope you can play the treasure hunt game with Biff again soon

I don’t think it’s a bug, is the thing. Because Plucky had clearly intentional dialogue, and just. Took it from me

I've never heard of that happening, Plucky played it with me the other day and luckily Bill didn't take it from me when I talked to him! I had no idea that could happen!

I didn’t either, otherwise I would have just gone straight to Biff! Definitely seems like it’s not guaranteed to happen tho because I talked to Bea before Plucky and she didn’t take it from me
