Weeding Day is coming up. Last year in Cutetown I only had 2 weeds. It was a bit of a bust for me. This year I have two towns but really want to do Weeding Day in my 2nd town. I'm not really sure how to do better on Weeding day though. Currently I have Beautiful Town on in my 2nd town. Should I take that off? What else can I do to do better on Weeding Day? Um... I don't TT so any advice that doesn't involve TTing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I think you can go to other peoples town and do the weed activity to get the furniture if that's what your after.

You definitely need to take off the BTO to get enough weeds. But I feel like you would have to have saved all your weeds for months if you want to complete your weeding day set. I second Stevey's suggestion and go to someone's town who has a weeding town on the day 
Last year I turned off Beautiful Town Ordinance about a week in advance to make sure I grew some weeds, but I had to water all my flowers during that time. I have so many flowers that it was a pain, so this time I'm just going to hope I get 1 or 2 weeds in time. If not, it's not a big loss for me because I already have the furniture I want for my town.

my advice? skip weeding day and purchase the furniture from another member on tbt
As Destani mentioned, it is a bit of a pain taking it off if you have a lot of flowers. I will let one weed around until the event happens then pluck it for the one furniture. If you have multiple characters, you may collect it for each one. It is possible to get different ones for each, too. Last year, two characters got violet screens while the others got rose sofas. What they have been rewarded in the past may be a factor, not sure.

I've been hoping to pull weeds for someone to farm the hard to get stuff. Leif can appear outside of Weeding day, if you have a bunch of weeds. I forget which one has these conditions, but you can get 1 flower item per maybe 30 weeds.

It doesn't affect unfortunately. It's completely random. So you could save right before talking to Leif, then get ready to be scolded by Resetti and shut down the game, until you get the piece you want. That is possible as only 4 out of all 12 pieces are the ones you get from him by weeding in your town.

Thank you for all of the advice! I sort of figured I'd have to end up buying at least some of the Weeding Day furniture but I kind of wanted to experience a bit more of Weeding Day than just 2 weeds. lol!
I'm definitely going to take BTO off and hopefully I'll grow more a few more than just 2 weeds between now and Weeding Day. I might also take this chance to let a few black roses wilt to get some Gold ones.

I never do well on weeding day. And now because I work during the day and have plans tonight, I'm not going to be able to participate like I want to. :'(
I'm sorry to hear that. This is only my 2nd Weeding Day which is why I wanted to try to do a little better than last year. I hope one day you'll have a good Weeding Day.

In ACNL, the clovers do not count as weeds.
I've taken off BTO until after Weeding Day. Now I just have to resist the urge to pull any weeds that pop up. lol!
