I put TEN radio's around the forest on full volume, and couldn't hear K.K. Dirge over the horrid 2pm dirge.

lol! I did the same in my bamboo forest, i had to put at least 3 radios and then put them full volumen because otherwise the in game music would over run the radios

I am wondering, if ACNLs music sounds more relaxing to you than the ones in ACNH, specially at night time. I have been thinking about it a lot lately, since with all the covid situation I have been playing the game like MUCH more and last night i felt like the music was going to give me a light headache so i decided to turn the volume of the game down and put a random youtube video with ACNL night music and it was so much better!!!

I dont know if it is all just in my head or you actually prefer ACNL or even are in disagreement with me and prefer ACNH in game music.

Very curious to see what you guys have to say about it.
For me New leaf was my first ac game so its go for me. It brings back such good and relaxing memories.

I completely understand you cause it was also my first AC game to play, i guess there is a nostalgia component to it. However i still say as many of you are saying , that Nl has more slowed paste and relaxing music in overall than Nl

I barely played New Leaf with the sound on but from what little I remember I didn't find the daytime hourly music very relaxing. Nighttime music was better and more relaxing than nighttime New Horizons music, though.

7pm, 2pm and 5am in New Horizons are perfect songs. But in general I felt NL gave much more relaxing vibes the second night started. I would almost daily boot up NL JUST to play at 11pm!!

I think NL was more relaxing. I usually play with sound off, anyway, but the other day I had it on and had the thought that "there's a lot going on with the music..." It's a lot of sax and jazzy, which is fine, but gets tiring. I prefer more piano or music box sounds in the background.

I guess that's a matter of preference. Before games didn't have overly complicated music because they couldn't. It was more melodic, and now they can do a lot more with harmonies and compositions. Sometimes less is more. (I know nothing about music, just my observations.)

ACNL’s in-game music, especially the evening/night time, is more relaxing than ACNH’s in-game music for me. The piano parts in the hourly music did the trick. It’s really fitting for the game.

I feel like for a make-your-own-paradise island package game theme, the music should mostly be more slow-paced and use more instruments that tie in with the themes (like the ukulele for instance).

It’s not to say I don’t like some of the songs from ACNH. 5 AM, 7 AM, and 7 PM slap. Most of ACNH’s in-game music though just got a more campy, cheery vibe I’m not fan of.

You know what in-game music besides ACNL is relaxing? The rain/snow in-game music version of ACGC. I loved fishing in ACGC really late on in-game rainy nights when it was summer break

I did not play ACGC but i must say ACNH in game music ruins the atmosphere a lot in my perspective specially in those moments or days when is stormy or raining or windy because i feels thee in game music that too active homogeneous songs or music is somehow swallowing the beautiful sounds that the rain does or just the sound of the puddles when you are running, thats one think i found as a big mistake to be honest

Honestly, I really feel this. It’s also a big shame because ACNH’s SXF are the best I’ve heard across the AC series.

When I hear the raining version of 8 AM, it’s too much clu-clu-clu-CLUNK and I’m not about that life

Not gonna lie, some of the NH hourly music is unsettling. And not in the way that has a charm to it like Lavender Town from Pokemon or New Leaf's 4am song. I think those have charm because they're still gentle yet a little somber sounding.
New Horizon's 3am? It's a little silly sounding, but the first time I heard it, I got a little scared. I decided to never play at 3am again. The community in general I have seen says NH 3am music just gives the vibe that we shouldn't even be awake at that time and we know it.

2PM in NH makes me feel like I went to that one hotel in Gordon Ramsay's hotel heck where the owner is just loudly singing while the guests are trying to enjoy a nice quiet dinner.

Don't get me wrong; if they hired new composers for this game, they have talent, they just don't seem to know the source material.

I don't mind NH music in the morning. Overall NL has more relaxing music that you can work with. I don't care much for some of them in NH.

A lot of the music from this game reminds me of the Gamecube version because I feels like its made specifically to make you stay awake (which isn't a bad thing in my opinion, I can appreciate it). I prefer Wild World's music though because it was the first game I started with and I get so nostalgic when I listen to it and I find it more pleasing to listen to.

Overall, I like NL's sountrack better than NH's. My favourite was WW's soundtrack. The NH's soundtrack is fun and funky though so I think it suits the island atmosphere. I prefer the night time music to the day time.

Well this poll definitely isn't mostly unanimously. I'm usually a chill person and it takes a lot for me to not like something. I usually go with the flow and try to enjoy or deal with something. With NH, I just don't care for the music at all. There are some good ones out there like 6PM I think? That one feels more like the predecessors.

It could also be because some of the hourly tracks don't feel complete. They feel like they're supposed to continue or drop into more of a rhythm, but they're so disorienting.

Can we just have an option bug Isabelle & ask her to change the music?
Or make the tracks available like kk songs so I can have some 5am over here & some 5 pm over there lol
I prefer the NL ost overall though there are some good NH tracks.

ACNH soundtrack is BORING as hell , in ACNL I would really enjoy playing while listening to the hourly music but in ACNH I gotta play while watching a program , a youtube video , listening to music or else I will get bored from the game easily
