WARNING: Possible Island Hackers

So I met this girl on the island a while ago (I thought she was a bit of a weirdo or maybe even a troll) and she started 'warning' me about hackers who visit the island a can wipe your game or something like that. She also told me that they were like some freak group and that they wore gas masks - she started telling me to warn my friends blah blah. Seeing as I thought she was just joking or attention seeking, I just left but a couple of weeks ago I saw someone with a gas mask on the island and, I guess part of me wanted to believe her, I left just in case.

Anyway we all know that seeding doesn't exist in new leaf now (thankfully) but there have been signs of hackers here and there. Not so long ago Luckypinch said she was hacked and had her game wiped - some may have seen the thread - I asked her about it and she said that the person who hacked her was from the island and did wear a gas mask.

I don't even know if people already know about this but I haven't seen anything about it before - I'm not saying that there are definitely people out there to hack/wipe games but it still might be a good idea to be careful still :/

How can someone hack into your game? Maybe my little brain just doesn't get it. XD But it seems a little ridiculous.

I agree. There are tons of liars on the island.
I don't believe a person with a gas mask will 'hack' your game and it'll be gone. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I think what she meant was in general, with everyone talking about hackers wearing gas masks.
