For me it's Goose. I've never been a fan of any of the bird villagers apart from the ostriches but he's now one of my favourite neighbours. I actually love watching him run around all happy and today he sent me letter with a cheesy dad joke/pun in it and I actually giggled at it, made ppl at work wonder what I was on.

Beau! I know he's fairly popular but I would've never picked him as a potential villager for my town based on looks alone. When he moved in I instantly fell in love, and he's like a little brother to me. I feel as though he fits the lazy personality the best!
For me, it would probably be Muffy. She was my starting uchi villager and I was not very fond of her initially. I know uchi personalities tend to be direct and in your face, and could be interpreted as being dismissive and rude. I had that first impression as well, but eventually after interacting with her for quite a bit, I found her pretty amusing, and I actually enjoyed how direct she is. 
In addition to that, I would arguably say that she gave me the best DIYs out of my other villagers. The shell furniture and the iron garden bench are the ones that I use the most. I know some DIYs are only available to be obtained from certain personalities, but thank goodness for Muffy since those DIYs came in to be very useful!

Gonzo! he was my first cranky and when he moved in I thought he was kinda ugly and decided I'd just yeet him eventually, but when I showed him to my girlfriend she was like "wait, he's kinda cute though" and then a few days later I saw him out on a rainy day wearing his little raincoat and diligently studying the flowers under the rain and I just couldn't not love him

Sprocket is fastly becoming one of my favorite villagers. The idea of a robot ostrich being a jock makes me laugh. I usually am not a fan of jock villagers but he's so adorable. He doesn't get the love he deserves. ;(

i always thought beau was kinda cute but liked other lazies more, but i found him on my first mystery island and now i'm so attached to him. ;;

Mine is Bones, I picked him up on a mystery island while hunting for somebody else. I invited him, but at first I didn't like him for some personal reasons. Now he's grown on me and is one of my favorites, and he was the first one to give me his photo. It's basically the same story with Genji, Marshal, and Punchy!

Once and forever
I just had Fauna move in from my campsite. I’d never though much about her, and was not planning on adding another normal, because I already had two, and I’m not sur I even wanted that many. But I feel like her dialog is different than the normals I already have (vesta and flurry) and even in the tent she was talking about becoming a poet and now on her first day she asked me about what book she should read. And she’s been sweeping all the paths around her house and did calisthenics on the beach in the rain, and for some reason all of it has been so cute to me.
So anyway, too early to know if she is a long term favorite, but I am surprised by how much I like her (even though I think she is pretty popular).
I also looked up biff while doing ‘rate my villagers’ and have a weird attachment to him now...That would be a very unexpected favorite, but I may have to move him to my island at some point just to see.
My husband loves her too. Her ‘whatevs’ fits her and her type perfectly, and she just kind of seems no nonsense and fun, where some of the uchis can seem harsh or rude. We wish she had her real house though! But whatevs!

Deirdre! I have never been interested in her until I saw and spoke to her on my sister's island. I actually love her markings etc. in the game, and she has such a cool vibe! I can safely say that she is my favourite villager right now
