Villagers talk about visitors...

I really hate that villagers talk about visitors now, even without other players talking to them. As long as someone visits, the animals will always bring that person up. The issue I have with this is that I prefer my villagers to only talk about when my friends visit and not random people I don't know. This wasn't a problem in New Leaf because the animals would only talk about the people that actually talked to them, so if you didn't want the dialogue, you just make it a rule not to talk to villagers. Now I don't even want to let others in because of this.. And someday, when my town is all cleaned up and ready for visitors, I eventually want to open my gates to let people shop or do stuff in my island to help the community.. but as long as this is a thing, I really don't want to.. Is there a way to not have this happen?

I feel the same way! And even before I started trading, I'd have friends over to play and it was still almost the ONLY thing my villagers would talk about. Now with trading, it's just even worse. ^^; I like hearing about it when it's my actual friends, and not like EVERY single dialogue I have... It would be great if they could limit it to only best friends or even only friends. Only if you talk to them would be an improvement too, though it may still be annoying since people talk to them to get recipes.

I agree, I'm tired of hearing them talk about people who have been on my Island for like not even 5 minutes, never talked to them and whom I don't even remember. I hope they patch this in the future. :<

The only way to solve this is to have your actual friends visit your island often. I did hundreds of trades but also have my real life friends visiting almost every day, and my villagers mostly talk about my real life friends since they are only the repeat faces.

I think they only do it once or twice in the day or so following the visit. It's not something that is very common.

I feel like they stop mentioning visitors after a couple days, unless they are on your friends list or keep coming back regularly.
I know some people might find this a weird thing to be bothered about, but I agree with you and i feel the same way.
