Villagers NEVER suggest PWP's..

An old post of mine describing the wetsuit trick:

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but most of that stuff isn't necessary. Basically, the reason doing this works is that your villagers aren't seeing you in that 5 minutes or however long you choose to do this. You need to be outside in your town and avoid being seen, which is why everyone recommends swimming. But in reality, just staying on the beach (unless a villager happens to be there, which is very rare) will work. You don't need to get stung by a jellyfish or catch any fish. You can just idle in the water (you get stung by a jellyfish if you idle, which is probably why everyone thinks that's what does it).

You should make sure you have no money (it's fine if you have like 10 bells or some other small amount) and nothing in your pockets. The reason you do this is because it increases the chance that they will request a public works projects. Why? Because there is no chance they will buy or sell you something. I read somewhere that you shouldn't have tools because they can ask you to catch bugs, but I'm pretty sure they only ask you to do that through normal conversations. I always have my pockets completely empty, however.

What I personally do is empty my pockets and deposit my money and idle in the water while I do something else. I check back 4-6+ minutes later and look for the villagers.

well what i do is stand around in some place far from my villagers for like 30 mins?? then one of them will always want to do something for me. i used to always do the wetsuit trick but i think you can just leave the game on and be far away and still get requests. (just dont let them see you)

and maybe you weren't diving long enough??

that's what I thought at first, but I started diving for 10 min, sometimes 15 min....
I just don't understand why it used to work and now it doesn't anymore. I've been doing the same thing as before ><

Oh well...guess I'll just have to keep trying..

Just standing on the beach has the same effect (Unless a villager is there, which is incredibly rare). Or standing anywhere where a villager won't be in the vicinity of you.

Huh, that's very strange. You said the trick hasn't worked in 4 days. Have you got any exclamations at all in those 4 days?

Just did the wetsuit trick for the first time after having only the Yeild sign suggested in two weeks!!! As soon as I got out Daisy suggested the Fairytale Clock! :-) is there a limit to how many times per day you can do the trick? Will they only suggest one thing a day?

Apparently you can get more than one. Personally, I've only gotten one in a day, but I've never kept trying afterwards to get another one.

The wet suit thing has never worked for me. Ever.

The thing that works best for me is to have a PWP in progress, but to pay it off slowly. I took almost a week to pay off my zen garden, and every single day my villagers suggested 1 PWP a day. And this was with a lot of bells and items in my pockets too. They'd run up to me and suggest something. It could be luck or coincidence though.
