Villager house item loss?

Weird question. I went over to marshals house today and it was eerily quiet? Then I looked and he had removed his record player. I'm very careful to only give door decor and clothing they like/wear to avoid item loss/change in their houses. Has anyone else just had items disappear from villager homes?

Just double checked and he didn't toss any of the clothing I've given him on the walls, which is extra weird.

This happened to my Marshal too! He would just randomly put away his record player and rearrange the furniture on the table in the far back right corner. Sometimes he replaced the espresso machine with a coffee grinder, or just emptied the table completely. I haven't seen any other villager do this, only Marshal.

when he whips out his diy table is it where the record player is? sometimes that messes up their furniture for a bit

Maybe? He was crafting yesterday but I cannot remember where he sticks his table

Yeah, I had the same happen with Wolfgang. I haven't given him anything, but he put away his record player for weeks. Then he gave it to me randomly, so I was like, "Oh no! Now I have to give him another one..." But then he just put it back randomly yesterday? So there's hope that it will come back!

I like how villagers will rotate furniture, but there is some bit of weirdness to it. I remember seeing things like some villagers would have items duplicate and things like that. Maybe this is part of it? I also wish that they would prioritize having music players out no matter what so that we can always hear their favorite song. I've been trying to give one of my villagers a music player for weeks and no dice.

His table is in the bottom right corner of his room, and the furniture that I've seen be rearranged is in the top right corner. I've seen his pull his table out while all of his furniture is in where they should be too though.
