Use of the Pier

I know some people were theorizing the use of the Pier and wondering if the length of it means something that we don't know about yet.
But I wonder if the Pier simply doesn't have the use beyond for fishing. I mean would they have an NPC there show up just to block the Pier exclusive fish? Do you think it wouldn't matter if so?
And I can't help but think why have Redd at the back of the island at that point? Is there a better maybe new NPC that would fit better at the Pier? But... Couldn't Redd and the other NPC share the Pier if it isn't solely about fish?

Do you think the Pier will be used for something other than fishing?
Do you think it is something we will see in the Summer of 2021?

i suppose it’s entirely possible that kapp’n’s boat could dock there at some point, if nintendo ever decides to bring him back. and the pier fish can also spawn at the sides at the pier, not just the front, so they wouldn’t really be affected if the pier ever has another purpose besides fishing ;u;

Or Kapp'n could spawn next to the pier and you could still walk to the end and fish!

I mean if the pier was used for an npc, they'll be there for like a day or something. You can also fish at the docks at the airport or just go to a mystery island.

I think the pier will get used eventually. Would've thought Kapp'n would return for the summer, but maybe they want to save that for more content next year?

Tortimer Island being accessible from the pier/boat would be neat, though I kinda wish they'd bring back the island from the Gamecube game. Like have Kapp'n take you to another smaller island that is "yours" in a way, with an extra little house you can decorate and maybe 1-2 villagers who live there or something, and a non-native fruit. Or reintroduce lychees, persimmons, lemons, etc. on that island. Maybe to give players with a huge bell stash something to do, make the island something you can only access after paying off your house loan entirely or something? But that's just total wishful thinking on my part, it's hard to say what Nintendo's got planned for that pier.

Either bless your heart or some of y'all love to fish for reactions like mine because this sounds a lot like a size vs. use debate.

That said I don't think the size matters and I would guess it will see use eventually.

That sounds like a really fun idea, I'd love for it to be implemented.

My best bet for the pier is the return of Kapp'n eventually.

lol yeah I know people are stuck on the thought processes that has nothing to do with the game, but in all honesty I am asking though because of the airport color... something I didn't think would really matter or pertain to anything.

I would absolutely love for kapp'n to make a return, i just miss the island minigames so much but to play into the innuendos... i don't think size matters

Pier is used for special fish like the blue marlin... tho it seems like a smol, simple use. could definitely be better
