Unsettling villagers

Mine would probably be Coco and Lucky, im not the biggest fan of either of them and yeah they're a little creepy but I dont like either of their eyes. The (female) kangaroos are also slightly unsettling mainly because of the babies and the whole hive mind thing they got going on

Had him as a starter villager, one of my first two, and his face really disturbed me.
He seemed nice, but I just couldn't handle having him on my island so he was one of the first to go.

Rodeo cause he look like the antichrist and Jitters cause he looked like he did all the drugs in the world.

it doesn’t help the fact that I used to have Rodeo and he gave me a tombstone.

This award goes to Clay, closely followed by Coco. I first met Clay while looking for Tarantula island. When I talked to him and he turned around I almost lost it. I locked him in an area on that island so I could go about my business undisturbed but he got out somehow and on the spot where I locked him there sat A PIECE OF CLAY!
Wouldn't want either of the two roaming my island at night. Just imagining seeing their faces from further away gives me the creeps.

Coco, Peaches, Rodeo, and Chow are just SO unsettling. Coco eyes creep me out, Peaches is kind of dead, Rodeo is insane, and Chow looks like a panda whose fur has been ripped off...

chops is one for me, lol. he was my first campsite villager that you're forced to keep and with everything going on in the world having a literal rich pig stereotype was just super unsettling and upsetting to me

chow also gives me kind of a bad vibe. i know japan has some issues with how they view other east & southeast asians due to the last century or so of asian history and being southeast asian myself he just feels kind of.... icky to me :/

Chow and chester are both so unsettling, esp chester, he looks like some kind of creepy mime considering how cute pandas are irl I'm sad the two most panda like villagers look so creepy lol

Chow's face when he smiles has creeped me out massively since I first saw it. I don't know what it is but those weird big teeth and goat shaped eyes and fleshy colour just disturbs me to no end. I'm all for not-traditionally-attractive designs but I don't know why they couldn't at least make him look like he hasn't been skinned alive??

Probably Barold since his house is definitely one of the most unsettling Who is he spying on? Unless I am mistaken and he's actually running a security service to keep the island safe!

Coco is definitely creepy to me. I found gyroids creepy because of those giant holes in there face and the deadpan stare, so the fact that Coco is styled after them doesn't help.

Lucky is also unsettling to me as well for the simple fact that he is a mummified dog.

Apple creeps me out a bit, but I think it's mainly her eyes being so wide.

Barold, Limberg, and Coach are also unsettling to me because they look like old creeps with their design.

Last one to come to mind right now is Mathilda. She looks evil, and her baby looking exactly like her doesn't help.

If it makes you feel better, I think some other villagers in the game are supposed to be non-Japanese Asians as well. Pekoe for sure, plus I think Drago (his furniture tends to skew Chinese, or at least it used to) and maybe others. And I've always thought one of the tigers was supposed to be South Asian but I could be wrong. Of course, that doesn't change how sketchy Chow is. I meant more along the lines of villagers that look creepy/weird in a fun way but I agree with you about Chow's design. My ethnicity doesn't seem to be caricatured in the game (I'm Asian too) but I sympathise.

For me, it's any characters without eyeballs like stitches, coco, and redd. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then these villagers are soulless.

I don't know why but her smile just looks like she has no teeth and is all gums...which feels unsettling.

I don't like Coco or Lucky. Her eyes set off my trypophobia and Lucky is literally a dead dog.
