Unpopular AC;NL opinions

Story driven towns personally annoy me. Like, ACNL is for making a pretty town, not telling a story about a girl who had a broken family and killed herself.

This is something I don't like either. Some people create these crazy stories and actually expect us to figure it out, and it's usually impossible. I do like the town that has the creepy doll in the paintings. I think that story town was really well done, and I actually figured out what was going on, but I've had a few people ask me to visit and figure out the story. I was so confused, and had it completely wrong.

Ooh, the 'Town of the Artist'? That was a really good one, and the story was interesting to figure out.

Here's my probably super-unpopular opinion: Aika Village. Over it! It was definitely innovative for its time, and I certainly don't dislike it, but I don't understand the lingering obsession with it. Maybe because I've visited so many dream towns and have seen lots of mindblowingly great things others have done that should also be recognized?
(I'm trying really hard not to sound like I'm insulting Aika or its creator, because I'm not!)

I need to figure out the audio for my capture card so I can be part of the solution (i.e., making dream town videos of towns I admire) :)

I also don't like Octopus villagers... They are cool, don't get me wrong, and I have Marina in my town (she was there from the beginning) it just doesn't make any sense to me. And people have been asking for new species, and the one we get is something that shouldn't even be able to breathe outside of water? xD Maybe they've evolved and can live on land in ACNL, but still.

You're playing a game about talking animals in which money can be grown on trees and spit out of rocks, and human children are low-key dictated by their poodle secretary and a money hungry tanuki, and your issue is that octopus can now live on land???

Am I the only one who thinks that the fish and bug hunting aspect is sorta messed up? I mean, are they not animals? That's, like, slavery and cannibalism. I try not to think about it too much, but still...

It makes me sick to my stomach.

Chip, being the main offender, scoffing down fish in front of you.

I had to turn the sound off and close my eyes back when I needed the trophies and fish sets.

What? Animals eat other species. That is how they survive. Not trying to start an argument about anything. I just wanted to voice a different opinion.

I already know that. :-/

It's meant to be an animal friendly game, where they obviously don't follow the RL food chain... unless you normally have wolves approach you for apples. :D

Ah I get where you are coming from. You could just think of the villagers as humans dressed in animal costumes, then maybe the fish and bug catching wouldn't seem as bad?

I really feel like amiibo are useless, all they do is spawn a villager in your campsite. That'll be $12, please!

I'd rather waste money on figurine amiibo than the cards.
+ NFC readers are expensive :(

I don't spend a ton of time on paths and detailing. I enjoy my town having a simple, natural feel.

The figures don't have nearly as decent items as the cards.

I have all of series 5, and the item list is nothing short of amazing.

- Amiibo cards ruined the game. It used to be so exciting hunting for dreamies and it was so special to finally get them, now it's just about paying for cards. The animal crossing version of pay to win.

- I hate that time travelling is a thing.

Hm? I got mine for $4 each at a gaming store :/

I think TT is a good thing since not everyone has the patience to wait a full day, but for the amiibo cards I kinda agree + the amiibo villagers system is messed up

I DONT think i would like pocket camp i mean really a campsite compared to a WHOLE TOWN. New leaf is for me not to.menton you have to play money for stuff like upgrading your rv Or camper quicker...kinda takes the charm outta the series

Plus, if we assume all the animals in-game are sentient beings operating on the same level of consciousness and intelligence, regardless of whether they're villagers or not...

Exactly!
They should have a mutual respect for life, and for one another. ^_^
