Unpopular opinion: The hourly songs in New Leaf are not only worse than the excellent GameCube songs, but they're also worse than the Wild World/City Folk songs. I'm not saying they're terrible or anything, but they're generally pretty bland and unmemorable.

People tend to quite like Normal Villagers, but in my opinion all of them can be pretty forgettable, and their dialogue is extremely bland. I also hate how a lot of the better-designed villagers have to be normal. I used to live with Midge, who I had since day one of my town. She gave me her picture 3 times, and would CONSTANTLY repeat dialogue, and I got extemely bored of her, and by extension, the entire normal personality.

Unpopular opinion: the new leaf villagers seem to have less personality than ever, they are quite boring compared to the old games. And I agree about the music, not my favourite. I miss the random bulletin board posts in Wild World, and the music for that matter!...
Oh, yes, I quite agree, only one normal in my towns, gag me with the "want to play the personality test? I'm not really going to give you a choice, so here we go, which of these is your favorite flower?" One only for PWP requests. Period!
AND, no peppy villagers allowed, ever again. Victoria totally ruined them for me. Period. Stop. Pause.
I disagree with so many of these points AKDJSKSK but I have some more opinions
- towns with lots of qrs for paths look messy
- yes i do have a pink town myself but generally i think pink towns are overdone
- Merry is the superior cat
- Francines a b* so I dont see the appeal

Dude, yes. I hate the freaking music, so I always turn off the sound unless I need to fish obviously since.. well my eyesight is not that good that I can tell if the bobber is down or not.
And yeah I remember WW having like real good music.
Maybe unpopular opinion but it's how I feel as well.
My own take on it is that the hourly music/events seem very derivative of everyday tunes in the real world - eg the 11am music.
The music of 7pm makes me feel so on edge that I cannot bear to listen, so either don't play that hour, turn the sound off or go to the island.
I've never had that reaction to the other ac games I've played - sadly not played the gamecube version but loved/could tolerate the music of acww & accf.
The villagers are far too bland, so in bulk I don't like them as much as those in acww.
Other posts saying similar, hope that similar is said on Japanese forums, & hence hope that if we get a new main game, Nintendo take note. (they did take on board a lot of the views expressed about acww/accf, in making acnl, so hopefully...).
tabby and tammi deserve more love. i'm assuming most people dislike them (or don't care about them) for both their design & personality, but they're both #1 to me so that's all that matters.

A lot of people say the New Leaf villagers suck because they're too friendly and nice to the player. I disagree. New Leaf is my first and only Animal Crossing game but I've seen screenshots and footage of the older games, and villagers used to be downright nasty. I don't want to play a game where characters who are supposed to be my friends get livid at me and call me a fat idiot and say they hope my house burns down because I didn't answer their question with the response they were hoping for.

I hate the smug villagers. I think they're creepy(and not even in a good way) and the only one I will ever allow in my town is W. Link because I'm a LoZ fan.
