Bell Tree Bells are the bells you can earn on this forum by posting.
The exchange rate to IGB is 10M per 50 TBT, but when trading with tbt, it's not really hardset; its negotiable. (At least, I think so. I feel as though tbt has a value independent of igb, on this forum.)
Outside of AC:NL trading, a lot of people use it for collectibles and art!

Not really a replacement, you can use it to buy in-game items and IGB from other people though. c:
And yes, you can use tbt to buy upgrades for your profile, like a title color change or a wider avatar image, and some collectibles or items you see people have under their avatar, but it's not limited to that.
