Unlocking PWPs....?

Hey I've been swimming in the ocean, with my pockets full, for about 5 minutes at a time - trying to unlock PWPs like the hotspring from Mira but all they've pinged me about it catchphrase/greeting/nickname changes.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a better way to do this?

There's a 1 suggestion limit per day though.

I've been logging in and out once for other reasons and I got 4 suggestions in 1 hour.

When I first started out, I got most of my suggestions when I was out watering my flowers. I'm not saying it is the best way, but it worked for me. Now that I have almost all of the suggestions, I do not get as many as I did then.

Nothing is wrong, it's all luck and it could take a while before anyone suggests a PWP. All the diving trick does is makes sure every time you come out of the water, a villager will "ping" you, but there's no way to guarantee the pings will be PWP suggestions. It's good your pockets are full (preferably of something villagers won't buy from you, like flowers or bell bags), otherwise they will also ping about buying or selling you things, too. You're not doing anything wrong, maybe just a bit of bad luck so far.

I don't think there is a limit to how many suggestions you get a day, it's just usually rare to get more than one.

Also, the hotspring is suggested by snooties, I think - Mira is an uchi. c:

Uchis don't request the hot spring. Snooties do.

It's just really based on luck. I find that trick to rarely work. I can go do it for an hour straight and not get a single ping. It'll probably work eventually though. xD

I generally find myself getting requests more often by not even trying the the PWP rumor. I'll just be walking about and someone pings me in the morning.

It's better when you're doing something else. Doesn't make it easier or anything, but I like to do that when I'm watching TV or something, set a timer for it and check back every 5 minutes. That way it doesn't feel like such a drag and it's not so annoying when the next ping is not a PWP suggestion.

This trick triggers pings in general. Even if your pockets are full of seashells and stuff your villagers can't buy from you, there's still a high chance you'll get pings about greetings, catchphrases or just some odd random questions. Personally, I've never even bothered with the diving/swimming trick and I still get a decent number of PWP suggestions just while walking around town or doing my daily chores.

Another thing I've noticed is that villagers with high friendship ping more often in general. So, for example, if you're trying to unlock the snooty PWP's but your friendship with your snooty isn't that high, it might take you longer to trigger pings (that's just been my experience).

I have a question. Recently I wasn't getting many pwp suggestions but then when i went to add a new pwp from the list I already had i was already up to 30! Does having over 30 pwps make it so your villagers won't request more?

I think it just depends on your luck. I've been doing the swimming trick for a couple of days now and I keep getting conversation pings like my villager asking me what kind of pet they should get or ranting about their magazines being discontinued.. etc

it takes a lot of patience unfortunately. Luckily I've gotten literally every request ever using the trick (wood bench, police station, tire toy, camping cot, all of them from villagers!) My sister is the mayor and NEVER plays EVER so I have to log in her account and do the PWP trick.

I severely wish you could delete mayor character. omg. Then I could be mayor...*dreams*
