Many people argue over what personality the Uchi's are supposed to be.

Tomboy:
They act rough and tough and seem to enjoy fighting.
They seem to be interested in wanting to be part of turf wars. How is this being tough to protect a younger sibling.
They often talk about being famous for various thing such a wrestling and martial arts. This shows they seem to be interested in sports like a majority of real life tomboys.

Big Sis:
They seem to become sort of a 'bodyguard' for the player.
They give the player medicine if stung by bees.
They generally do seem to care for the player like a sibling

What do you think. Post your responses and thoughts below!

I see them more as a tomboy. I had Katt in my town as my first uchi, and she was a pure tomboy!

I have Hazel in my town, and while she isn't girly, she also doesn't go out of her way to act tomboyish. I think their more like big sisters or just plain sisters. They like to have casual, random conversations like siblings sometimes to. I could see myself talking to my (twin) sister about how to eat potatoes, the same goes for most of her dialouge. :P

Why do we keep making threads like these? We already have one? Why can't everybody agree and accept them as they are ;-;

They are called aneki (big sister) type in the Japanese version, so even though they can be a bit rambunctious and boyish, I think the overall feel the developers were going for was a cool older sister that you want to look up to.

The other thread is supposed to be about why people didn't like the new personalities, this is so people can discuss, wether Uchis are tomboys or big sisters. While they do seem to be a bit of a mix beteen them, there are no doubt some of the reasons they have more of a tough attitude than the other females, has nothing to do with protecting a little sibling, seriously the 'tough only to protect a little sibling' does not explain why they ENJOY fighting and turf wars.

Er, how exactly? I can respect your opinion, but do you have anything to back up your opinion?

Did you miss this part of my previous post?

How in the world is that 'acting tough to protect a younger sibling?

Pashmina is tomboy all the way...I love her personality. Not so mind-numbingly kind like the normals, but not so hyper as the rather annoying Peppies, or hipster as the snooties. Just kind of chill and not very popular, usually visually unappealing, but sweet when you get to know them. (Like really...how many uchis are appealing and/or popular? I think the only popular, appealing uchi is Pheobe.)

I used to look at Paula as strong big sister but not Katt! She is my strong funny friend instead cause of her small size xD

I view them as more of a "big sister" type personally. Like a big sister acting cool for their younger sibling or something.

They're not tough only to protect a little sibling, silly. They're just tough :P You don't have to be tough for a reason! It's called a personality! And their personality is that they are tough and caring! They act like a big sister by providing medicine and offering to beat up anyone bothering them, because their personality is that they solve things by fighting!

Going back to my original point, why can't the uchis just be tough, big sisters?

Also, there is the matter of a little detail you might not know about...a petition they might give the player. "Tomboys are People Too". All petitions have something to do with the villagers personality, and since they give the player that one....need I say more?

Katt strikes me as more of a tomboy, though I think it's partly appearance-bias on my part, because when I had Muffy in my first town... I didn't even realize she was supposed to be an uchi (thought she was snooty, actually, though I think I'd lean more toward big sister for her). Katt just looks the part of a tomboy to me, and her dialogue is fitting (she did, however, change into a very girly shirt).
