Congratulations to the chatterboxes, comrades and senior members for winning the bell bounties this past weekend and the winners of the plushie raffle! This has been a great and special weekend, especially today. Thank you all ❤️ Again, it’s been really nice to be a part of this community for so long and I’m happy to celebrate its 20th anniversary alongside all of you! Can’t wait to get started on my letters to future me and TBT!! 🥳🥳

Special Announcement New
Special Plush Raffle Announcement!

Hi all! Unfortunately one of the raffles didn’t quite work out, so I’ll be drawing a new winner tomorrow evening at 7pm EST.

We were able to recompile our list of entrants despite the small handful of people who already discarded their tickets, so you’ll still be included if you had the ticket in your inventory at any point during the active raffle.

Once again, best of luck to everyone!

aw. I'm guessing there were probably some unfortunate shipping location issues with one of them

though I guess we know get to keep the raffle hype going a bit longer and then leading into the halloween raffle drawings

I do want to make a small statement about the aforementioned issue as I’ve already received a PM about it and I don’t want anyone to feel unsure or uneasy. I would ask that people only buy a ticket if they actually plan to receive the item when it comes to any raffle that involves a physical prize like this. Buying tickets on behalf of other users is unfair to everyone else, especially in a raffle that’s specifically set up to only allow one entry per person. A raffle for collectibles with no inherent IRL value is one thing but I’m not comfortable allowing it here.

me feeling like I jist stepped on a land mind all like

(no worries though. I understand the point of addressing this to the general userbase. especially since while the sentiment is nice, as you mentioned, it'd be unfair to other entrants)

lets gooooooooooo!

congrats to all the weekend winners 🤝

Just stepping forward here based on the urging of a few different people.

On the initial night I grabbed the tickets, I immediately regretted it because frankly I have zero use for/interest in stuffed animals, but thought the odds were heavily against me so who cares. Which brings us to tonight.

I discovered I’d won the plush raffle first via text/messages, and my first reply was ‘Great…now I have to figure out a way to get rid of it without offending the staff’.
So I inquired if I could give it to someone else, and here we are.

Everything Oblivia said is valid, and I agree with the majority of it. But this portion in particular…

Buying tickets on behalf of other users

…isn’t landing properly. This may just be a generalized statement on the whole, but in the context of the accompanying points it can also look like it’s vilifying me. So to be perfectly clear, not one single user asked me to buy a raffle ticket for them. Not one single user asked me to give them my prize.
I chose to attempt to give it away because that’s the kind of person I am.

Reading back now after sleeping on it, my post may have come across a bit more forceful than I intended. 😅

At no point was my intent to vilify you though I can see why it reads this way, so I do apologize for that. I made my post purposely nonspecific in an attempt to keep the issue as anonymous as possible, and I likely wouldn't have said anything if not for both a PM inquiry and Lambda's post above where people had concerns regarding possible shipping/location restrictions for specific plushies.

I also didn't mean to imply that there was some behind-the-scenes scheme to grant another raffle entry to a specific user, but the end result would be the exact same if I were to allow this. It's extremely sweet of you to want to gift your prize to someone else and my post was in no way meant to detract from that, but in the interest of fairness it wasn't something I was comfortable allowing.

Personally speaking, of course I always hope that any raffle winner is excited to win and that us staff can share in the excitement with them, so when that doesn't happen, it feels... not great. I don't expect collectibles, plushes, or anything else to be everyone's cup of tea, but I also don't think it's unreasonable to assume some level of interest for the raffled item(s) from anyone who grabs a ticket, and of course tickets can always be discarded in the event of post-decision dissonance.

Regardless, I could have phrased my original explanation a bit better so will keep this situation in mind and tailor my approach accordingly if/when something similar comes up in the future. :)

I was wondering if the bells for the trivia discord game were distributed? I was in the list of participants that earned 25 bells for I had a few answers right but still haven't received anything so I'm just wondering!

I was wondering this myself but was not sure if I should ask.

I haven't received mine yet either, so I assume staff just haven't distributed them yet.
