Having trouble getting ahold of a dungeoness crab. Does anyone know if the villagers trade special ingredients to you? They traded me some of the standard ones, but none of the special ones.

Yes, they can. Keep doing the fish errands and you'll get one eventually.

You could also try to shake up the game's RNG. Save & quit. Then reload the game to have different villagers cooking instead.

Yes they could give the special ingredients but it happens less frequently than the other ingredients

Oh. My bad. I should've read it properly. Will fix my post. Still, yes, they CAN give you. As said above, it's just more rare. So keep trying.

Yes - Ankha gave me a dungeness crab after I gave her a turban shell. It was the last ingredient I needed to complete the event, not sure if that affects the RNG of it or not.

Ankha gave me a dungeness crab to complete the event too, but she wanted a fish. She then gave me hints that it was the secret ingredient like she forgot what she just gave me.

I can't seem to find a yellow pumpkin to use as a secret ingredient. Does anyone know if the villagers might trade one? All I've gotten from them so far is orange.
