Trying to reorganize this board

Some have said that's hard to buy/sell here so we might do this:

Make it a rule that people clarify Buying/Selling/Auctioning in the topic title.

Split the board with 4 subforums:

Funitrue / Wallpaper / Carpet
Clothes and Accessories
Rare Items
Services
Misc.

Suggestions?
Thats great!
you should definetly do that..
cause then instead of people spending alot of tome scrolling though the auction house tryin to find wat their lookin for they can just click on the catogory that wat their lookin for is in!!
that would be so awseome and easy!!
whoever aggre's with wat im saying quote this and say no way or way!!
Stormcommander great idea u should do that!

But if there were 3 (buying, selling, auctioning) wouldn't it be harder to come across an item? For example, if you were looking for an item you would just say you're buying it. The sellers might not get much attention.

Well would it be not enough if there was still one board but a rule to have the "tags"?

Either way works in my opinion, aslong as there's tags I don't really mind :P

Maybe a "Store" sub-forum with some description mandatory in the topic's subtitle.

Also if everyone used the "WTB, WTS, auctioning.

It would be enough to simply have one board and apply the Tag System. However, you could just have people choose one of the three possible tags, "[Buying], [Selling], [Service(s)]".

With those three tags, people will be able to determine who's selling, who's buying, and who's offering their time up to perform several odd jobs (wow, I feel like a broken record now -.-). Applying those tags will direct immediate attention to a topic if someone is selling, buying, or offering services. No more will the topics will be named, "Gold Axe". If it stays like that, people will think in their head, "wtf? what about a gold axe?" when reading the topic title. If they think that, they'll just disregard that topic and move on. The problem with that is that the seller or purchaser may have lost someone who was willing to sell or purchase.

However, if you apply the Tag System, a topic with this system in place would look like, "[Buying] Gold Axe". This will have an immediate impact on the seller and they'll be more than convinced to visit the title to try and transact with the buyer.

Things need to be sold and bought immediately. Some of these threads linger for what seems like weeks before the whole thing is done.

ok then the first idea u had was very good!!
.. but here a really good idea..
set it up like this..

when we click on the auction house a screen should appear like this

________________________
Buying | 28 posts |
Auctioning | 30 posts |
Selling | 72posts |
------------------------------------------
then after we click on one another screen should appear that looks like this..
(for all of the above buying, auctioning, selling) (pretend the one below is the buying section)

BUYING
-------------------------------------------------
furniture | 6 posts |
wallpaper/flooring | 11 posts |
rare items | 3 posts |
clothes/apperance | 5 posts |
other | 9 posts |
-----------------------------------------
and then contine with the screen above for all of the sections, buying, selling, auctioning
i think its a great idea wat do u think stormcommander?

I also think there should be an [Auctioning] tag and then people are required to put a starting price, minimum increase per bid and a "buyout" price in the auction post.

I think what you just suggested was to make three sub-sections and then more sub-sections in each of them. That's time consuming and will only make this board look like a ghost town. In addition to that, it'll be difficult to search for stuff if a bot has to look through all those different sections.

no it wouldnt cause to fill in more of the page there would be haow many members are in tjhe section and besides its not about looks its about conveince and easyness

Okay, you just said it is about 'easyness' and 'convenience'. I'm pretty sure a member would like to get to one page and do their business. Not have to constantly click through sections to get to where they finally want to.

Like Storm had suggested, it's more than fair enough to just have this section left alone and that all new threads should follow according to the Tag System. If the Tag System was in place, people would be able to easily identify who is selling, who is buying, and who is offering their services. It's easy on the eyes and is ONE click away.

Actually no. The Tag System that was proposed is easy and convenient. Clicking through too many pages can discourage a user from continuing on with their plans. You have to think like the person who uses the forum the most. Ask yourself, what would be the best way, with LESS distractions and LESS pages to navigate, to sell or buy stuff? With the Tag System, you'll also see things faster.

For example, here would be a list of potential topics WITH the Tag System.
- [Buying] Gold Axe
- [Selling] Royal Crown
- [Auctioning] Gold Fishing Pole
- [Service] Joe's Landscaping Service
- [Selling] Medicine

Here is what it would look like WITH OUT the Tag System
- Silver Slingshot
- auctioning medicine
- buyin' royal crown
- etc...

As you can see, this section will look ULTIMATELY organized and professional looking if there were tags. People will KNOW exactly WHAT topic they WANT TO GO ON.
