Toy Day newbie.

So this is my first AC Christmas and as such I haven't a clue what's happening haha. I assume Toy Day is the 25th but am I expected to buy all the gifts the villagers are hoping for?! 'Cause I'll be damned if Rocket's getting anything from me (damn ape just won't move out )

They just give hints during the month of what they want like what color it is or if it's clothing/ furntiture. On Toy Day Jingle asks for your help delivering presents. You are given a bag of presents and you pick the present to give to each villager. I think you get Jingle's pic or something if you get them all right. You also have to dress like Santa to trick the villagers. Though last year I just kept the bag instead of giving it back to Jingle because I like to collect the random useless items. lol

Yeah, what you need to do is buy the Santa outfit from the able sisters/labelle thru out the month of December (Santa hat, beard, shirt, pants, boots, I think that's all of them). Also talk to all villagers who will tell you what they want for Toy Day. Over the course of the month they will give you two hints. Keep a list! It can be specific or vague. Some villager hints from my toy day (I'm a time traveler) were flora wanted "orange, wallpaper" Skye wanted "red, doll" and Francine wanted "purple, doll". So I really had to think about the items so I gave the right one from jingles bag. On the 24th (not Christmas Day!) at 6pm jingle will start wandering around your town.

Ah right so Jingle gives you the presents! That makes it a lot easier haha. Yeah I have been making a note of what people have been asking for. I wondered why the Santa stuff kept appearing in Able's, makes sense now!
