I have landscaped about a third of my town, but im at a loss for some ideas. My town is inspired by the idea of an old abandoned kingdom, overgrown into a magical spring forest with woodland villagers. I have Diana, Bunnie, Kiki, Poppy, Whitney, Ruby, Chevre, Fauna, Fuchsia, and Punchy. I want to replace Punchy, though, so i really need another lazy villager that you think would suit my theme! I was thinking maybe Bones? My mayor/the princess's house is the abandoned castle, but im not sure if my town hall and my train station should be original or the fairytale theme. Help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Your theme sounds interesting!

I am not sure of which town hall you should have. I've seen many fairy tale towns with the fairy tale town hall.
Depending on the color of your original hall, it may look "more abandoned" being original.

For your theme probably the most important mood ambiance would be time of dream address and weather...
-Foggy -Rainy (brings the more delicate music) - night vs day
- withered perfect fruit trees (shake until the leaves and fruit falls and you're left with a trunk)

Just some thoughts on your theme. Have fun with it!

Beau or Erik?
Since its a "magical" abandoned town I think the fairytale would fit in well.

I'd definitely go for the original town hall, ditch the fairytale hall if the castle is abandoned, the colour scheme of the original works well. Like HHoney sort of hinted at, a 'withered' theme would work well. Not a horror town though. Also, as Isnt-it-pretty suggested, Clay is a great choice. Fits the theme great. Good luck! :lemon:

Your theme is really great, honestly. In terms of theme maybe you could use flowers like pink lillies, or just in general some bright hybrids. I think that'd make it look very magical but at the same time instead of flooding the town with one type of flower use many different types such as pink tulips, purple tulips, purple pansies etc. Often flowers are very brightly coloured in fairytale kingdoms, so I think it'd make sense for if it was to be abandoned those flowers would still be native to the kingdom. :) Also for lazy villagers i'd recommend maybe Filbert..? since squirrels are woodland creatures after all and he is a lazy squirrel. Also I think he'd help to bring balance between your villagers since some are brightly coloured and some are more natural. But I think Bones is also a good villager choice, for a bit of backstory he could be like the family dog of those who lived at the kingdom before it was abandoned. I think that'd be a good backstory. :)

EDIT: I even think Beau could make a good choice too. :)

Thank you everyone, these are all amazing ideas!!

Make it look beautiful, but untamed and overgrown. Lots of four-leaf clovers, flowers dotted everywhere, an assortment of trees, maybe a few lost items on the ground... Kind of like it was beautifully landscaped at one point but has been left to grow over hundreds of years and has become a magical wilderness.

I think fairy tale looks a bit too "modern and new" for your theme. The original probably looks best.
I agree with everyone else, Beau and Erik are good lazy choices.
As for new ideas, I don't know how willing you are to do dirt paths, or if you've done them already, but I think they'd look really good. Stumps and clovers would give it some abandoned yet overgrown feel too.
