Hi all!

I don't know if the answer to my question is obviously and I'm just being stupid. I asked Nook to move a villagers home, received a kit and a few days later decided I did not want to move the house. When I returned to get my bell refund Tom Nook will not acknowledge the villagers kit I have in my bag. He will not give me a refund and lets me move other villagers homes as if I don't already have a kit.

I have no way of removing the kit from my bag apart from moving the house but then I'd just have to spend another 50,000 to move it back. :(

Is there any way to dispose of the kit?

Resetting is your only option. Nook is a greedy dude who ain't gonna refund anything

I'm not sure if resetting will work in this case since the OP says it's been several days since then. They must've saved several times since getting the plot. Unless you meant reset their entire island, which is a bit drastic over a one-day house move and 50,000 bells imo.

I think you're kind of stuck here, OP :( If you want to get rid of the kit, it sounds like you're gonna have to place it and then eat the cost of paying to move it back.

Yes I can! He let me buy another kit for her but he let me return that one. :(
Oh darn, that sucks! I think Nintendo may have overlooked the possibility that people wouldn't return the kit the same day.

Now I'm curious though.. What would happen if you'd place both kits on the same day? Would the second overwrite the first? Would you end up with two houses the next day? I wonder if anyone has done this or would be willing to experiment with this. :lemon:

You're right, I don't think there's much I can do but accept defeat and move the house. I know it's only 50,000 but giving Tom Nook money hurts. :(

I'll try it now and let you know what happens!

After choosing my area for the second house the items in the chosen area disappeared but no house structure was set up. How boring. :(

Oh, that's a shame! Thank you for trying. I'd be happy to give you 100k just for that by the way! And to ease the pain of Nook's greediness a little.

woah thats weird! I know for me if I change my mind on the same day, he will give me a refund, but I guess if its over 24hrs or whatever he doesn't. That really sucks :(

He will refund bridge kits though, so it's an active choice to not do the same for villager houses.

Yeah I think he does refund pwp aslong as they're not placed yet
